But I thought Sprott thoroughly outboxed Skelton for the first six rounds. Coukdn't miss him with the jab and only got hit when he lay against the ropes.

From then it degenerated into an awful maul, most of which I gave to Skelton, but still found another couple for Sprott, making him a 115-113 winner.

Given it was so messy and uninspiring, I don't have a propblem with the bare verdict, but I was very surprised one judge only gave Sprott three rounds.

Sprott hardly landed anything throughout the whole fight, and worse still he didn't seem to care. It was as though Sprott only wanted to prove that Skelton couldn't stop him.

In the ten seconds of boxing Sprott did in the thirty six minutes, he did indeed outbox Skelton.

I've always liked Michael but his performance was nothing short of disgraceful.

In fairness I scored the 11th round even. Even worse than the 10th round.

On the plus side, I have it that the only combinations left to run is Skelton-Harrison I and II, and Sprott-Harrison II. Skelton fights Harrison next, Williams fights the winner of Gammer-McDermott. Skelton beats Harrison and fights Williams. Harrison beats Sprott and fights Skelton who beats Williams. The winner of that is nailed on for a possible world title shot imo. As long as Sprott doesn't go off to Germany and get another scalp, in which case things might get a little complicated.

Good job I gave this one a miss, I long ago gave up on watching any of Warren's boring, endless heavyweight plodders.

It was bad enough I watched Luan Krasniqi this weekend: handed another WBO "elimination" - against one of those not so great American heavyweights they seem to fatten up with a decent record, in order to bring them to Germany as cannon fodder.

Krasniqi just lay on the ropes and covered up for most of the fight, waiting to be rescued by the ref. It was bizzare, even the crowd ended up booing his "effort".

Looked like he didn't fancy getting shellhacked by Wlad as his reward.

Sprott's been eliminated from world contention for good. Even in victory, Skelton almost certainly has, too. Even his own promoter has said so. Even if Sprott approached this with a journeyman's mentality, you'd think Skelton would have tried to make a statement, given he is on severely borrowed time.

well said. he threw some out of range jabs but those don't count. why doesn't he get his purse witheld, because he was not fighting

Sprott and Skelton were never going to get World title shots..... They were not even ranked, now it is just an excuse for now for Warren not to deliver.

Albeit a valid excuse, but even if it was Hagler vs Hearns - it wouldn't have meant a world title shot.

Audley Harrison and Danny Williams (after he beat Harrison) were the only two who MIGHT have got a world title shot if they looked good.

I just stopped watching in after 3 rounds. A friend described it as two bears mating......

Sad fight, one of the very worst I have seen - Sprott was hopeless, I think he was trying to prove Skelton couldnt stop him and very little else - Skelton won the fight but showed nothing that would give him more than an outsiders chance of winning a world title - Skelton v Harrison is looking more probable as a result with Matt retiring afterwards.

This should have been put on early doors where only 100 people would have watched it.

Frank should really know better that this would have been a stinker, take Audley, Sprott, Skelton, Francis, Williams, Gammer & Co. - they keep fighting each other in uneventful bouts - apart from when Audley is KO'd

I watched it on x12 then x30 speed fast forward with Sky+ slowing down to normal speed only for the first couple of rounds and the last round.

At high speed and with the Benny Hill theme playing, excellent

Well I thought Sprott must have sang Eric Carmen's "All by Myself" so Skelton thought he would comfort him.

I scored it 120-109 for Skelton.... not because Skelton was terrific, but because Sprott did NOTHING to warrant anything apart from a share of the first for me..... Sprott did get him with the jab - on the way to getting pushed into the corners 80 times a round and getting his body worked over.

I was surprised that the scores showed Sprott as being a participating part of the fight, to be honest.

So, safe to say, my view of the fight was not the most accurate representation of what actually happened!

I also had Limond even after four rounds; most say Khan won all bar the sixth.

Moved closer to the ring after the Skelton fight due to most of the crowd going home, so got a very decent view of Pryce-Small (fair stoppage) and Vinnie Mitchell.

I didn't even bother trying to score it, i just went and did the washing up while it played out across the room. Talk about watching paint dry!

Sprott just seemed content to jab Skelton's gloves...

Okay, which was the least entertaining fight Skelton-Sprott II or Currie-Banjo II?

The last three rounds of Williams-Harrison I were very good. No uproar over this fight, though, because neither man was a whipping boy for the press and public like Audley.
