love brawlers...so hatton just now

but would have loved to have seen fraizer vs holyfield in a fight

I've only met a few but after meeting them got to be more of a fan than I'd been beforehand....

Hatton... very friendly, relaxed, warm sort of guy

Witter...a bit quieter than RH, not so outgoing, but pleasant

Froch...much nicer in the flesh and when in relaxed surroundings than when you see him bad-mouthing opponents

Matthew Macklin...really pleasant, easy to talk to

'Enery.... met him a few years ago when he was on the after-dinner circuit. Seemed OK, easy to talk with. Still seemed a bit hung up on Bugner/Gibbs at that time!

The (ex-) fighter I'd really like to meet is Arturo Gatti...

Roberto Duran - Class act all round, top man!!!

Richie Woodhall - Very down to earth, nice bloke.

Carl Froch - Pleasant guy.

Met 2 out of 3 of my all time favourite fighters:-

Marvin Hagler - very pleasant, huge presence! had photo with him!

amir khan- nice and friendly.

denton vassell- pleasent

enzo mccranelli- lovely bloke

david barnes- friendly

kell brook- nice and down to earth.

dont think Ive met anymore.

i met some big names in las vegas when i went to watck kelley v barrera but 1 man stood out to me ..wayne mcchulloch .......didnt think much of the man beforehand but me and a mate met him at the weigh in. he is extremely friendly and stood and talked with us for a good while. talking as if he knew us for years

Scott Gammer - Bit of a reputation, but my experiences of him have been pleasant.

Kevin Evans - Gentleman, but watch your hiding the beer. Again a bit of a family reputation, but I aint had a bad experience with him.

Jamie Arthur - Got his head screwed on, nice guy.

Enzo Mac - Loads of time to talk... really down to earth.
Julius Francis - Again plenty of time and very supportive of other boxers... a true fighter.
Barry McGuigan - Nice guys, was extremely busy working with Sky but made time to say hi. At the Juuko vs Pep fight, our family was pretty much the only people not at ringside (standing behind the fence)... I shouted Hi to Barry and he told the security "let em through"... Not only did he sign my programme, but said stuff like "thats Vinny Jones there, do you want me to ask him to sign it" etc.
Carl Thompson - Nicest guy I have met... Was actually interested in our family "how many fights have I had", "how many times have we been to a world championship bill" etc.... He had an absolutely fantastic looking woman with him also.
Lloyd Honeyghun - Seemed nice, but I struggled to understand him.
Terry Marsh - Gentleman.
Gary Mason - A bit offish and absolutely shit at Football.
Ronnie Rush - Cut a bit of a lonely figure at the Gammer vs Krence bill, but thats how he wanted it too be... "let the fighters get the limelight, they deserve it"... Humble and it was a pleasure to talk to him. Great trainer.

I've met quite a few boxers one way or another in my time and I've only ever come away from one thinking he wasn't a nice guy and that was George Foreman.

On the whole, boxers are BY FAR the most approachable/down-to-earth/fan friendly of all sportspeople/celebrities.

And, by the way, everybody's favourite whipping boy Audley Harrison is A NICE GUY too!

Ive already met one of my favourit Sugar Ray Leonord at the Metro Arena,good fella,easy to talk to.

Funny you should say that, during his comeback when Big George became this 'Jolly Green Giant' type character it never quite sat right with me.

I have no doubt that he may have mellowed a little with age and maturity but I always felt that behind that big smile of his he was still the same moody, surly and intimidating guy he was in the 1970's.

Let's just say he wasn't at all approachable and made it more than clear he considered fans' attentions to be an annoyance.

I understand it must be difficult to live your life when you're one of the world's most recognisable names and faces, but still, he could be a little more polite with it.

Frank Bruno is by all accounts an even bigger celeb than George in this country, and he is much more fan-friendly.

Chris Eubank - Can't say enough nice things about the bloke. My bird dragged him into a burger bar to speak to me, and he chatted with me for around 10 mins before apoligising that he had to leave.

Tommy Hearns - Very accomodating and polite but he really sounds like he has slight brain damage now.

Roberto Duran - Didn't speak much English, but was nice enough.

Freddie Roach - Sounded a bit like Hulk Hogan, which was odd.

Shane Moseley - By far the nicest boxer I've met. Happy to sit down and chat to anyone who was willing to approach him. Often asked for your opinions on boxers, which was a nice touch.

Saw Roger Mayweather, Floyd Mayweather Sr, Juan Guzman, Vladimir Kltischko, Emmanuel Steward, Lennox Lewis, Joe Calzaghe (anyone at the O2 Arena during the Skelton v Sprott will know just how nice), Howard Eastman and Rocky Juarez and all were very accomodating to fans.

Almost every boxer I've met has been a good lad. Most have nothing to prove so don't need to be arseholes.

I was very surprised when I met Marco Antonio Barrera. Tiny, soft hands and a handshake like a wet lettuce. Lovely guy.

And watch out if you ever meet Michael Gomez. I truly believe there is something wrong in the head with him. Genuinely unhinged.

Usually the former but has the look (and reputation) that it can spill over into mayhem of the non-funny kind.

Met Gomez, he was ok, chatted about his up coming fights.
Also i bumped into Naz once, chatted and he was fine. this was after he retired, it was only when a few more people came over that he came off as a bit arragant. he just thinks he has to be that way by the look of it.
