Johanneson v Gomez for the British title who thinks this whould be a cracker i think there styles would gel perfectly myself itv interviewed Gomez and he would love it id say give Gomez a couple more warm up fights then he should go down that path be a great fight for tv what do you think the outcome would be.

Would be a cracking fight if it came off, the question is could Gomez make the weight as he is campaigning at lightweight and was struggling before his fight with McDongah to make that weight.

He's been asking for a Kirakosyan rematch, so presumably believes he can make the weight.

He needs some more "tune ups" too IMO. IS yet to be back to his devestating best following the lay off.

How about Carl Johanneson v Nicky Cook?

Rumour has it around these parts that Gomez will fight Amir Khan at the Nottingham Arena on October 6.

Former Midland Area, British Masters and WBF champ Carl Greaves, who has felt Gomez's attacks first-hand, feels Gomez can beat Khan if he gets in close.

Hope Mike gets the fight, and more so I hope he trains his ass off for it, because he'll need to be better than he was against Thorpe (which I saw first hand) and also better than he was against his last opponent (according to reports) to beat Khan.

Saying that, how many times has Mike been written off only to come back and bite someone on the ass!!

Carl needs to 'rededicate himself to the sport', if you know what I mean.

i think with a couple of wins each it would be a good fight for about march next year on the undercard of khan vs rees

Just looked him up - as it happens, he's fighting Fana for the IBF next.

Looked a good fighter that Alvarez - He broke Gomez down with relative ease, although Gomez did look poor in that fight.

Looks like Medina did for him.

Gomez is a bit of a sideshow act but he may well talk himself into a payday in this latest comeback. Would Gomez have anything left physically to trouble a younger, more vibrant Khan?

If he can get in close and drag amir into the trenches then it could be interesting while it lasts. Mike hits harder than limmond, and Amir could well be drawn into a macho scenario, rather than box his way to victory on the back foot.

Anyone know what is the problem with Carl?, all we hear is out of the ring problems , and lack of decent training.

As for Alverez, he lost to Medina in an eliminator for the IBF title, he also lost his next fight after that. But this being boxing, guess who's challenging Mzonke Fana for the IBF title in August, yep Alverez
