Billy is down to fight Eduardo Escobedo 19-2 on September 15 in vegas.He has been promised a November world title fight if he beats the Mexican.
Dib’s brother and manager, Emaid Dib, who runs Australia’s most prestigious BMW dealership, said Escobedo represented a big jump up in class for his brother but it was a necessary test at this stage of his career.

He won’t be working with Barrera for this fight but will be sparring every day with Shane Mosley and Shane has made it his personal project to make Billy a world champion.

Not quite sure if Dib is World Champion material just yet but best of luck to him. Any news on which Title/champion he will get a shot at?

On another note it seems that Golden Boy is taking fair dinkum interest in Aussie boxers... Or perhaps its just that they are growing their stable exponentially so it is bound to include some Aussies?

Dib’s fight will be for the NABO featherweight title and will likely be an eliminator for the WBO crown

I know we want our fighters stepping up but Dib wasnt overly impressive in his last fight and Escobedo seems a big step up for him.

I would wait and see how he does in this fight before a world title shot, But who knows how he will go, i just hope he keeps his hands up more as he had a pendency to hold his hands low.

I think this next fight is a tough test for him and if he is impressive in this fight he'd be every chance of winning the title. I've never been 100% sold on Dib but i think he is very slick and in the modern era of alphabet titles, anyone with an ounce of talent is capable of winning a version of a world title....

Well Billy had a good win over Rogers Mtagwa on the Mosley undercard and there are still rumors that he is going after Steven Luevano.

Billy Dib is awful, he got a gift of a decison on the ODLH vs. Mayweather undercard. He has no style or substance just seems to run around the ring trying to be flash without doing anything. Can't wait till he's in with a real fighter and gets bashed to fornicate.

Steven Luevano, I was very impressed with him when he beat Nicky Cook, very calm and composed with good solid work ethic behind the jab wearing Nicky down and flooring him repeatidly with hard body shots.

I'd pick Luevano to do the same to Billy Dib if/when they meet.

well he must be doing something right in the ring considering he is undefeated.

Gift? A foreign boxer gets a unanimous decision against a Mexican fighter and there is no news of any complaint from the large number of Mexican Americans you would get at a fight in Nevada? Are you sure you were watching the right fight? Or are you just being a condescending Pommy?

Well the reaction in the crowd was quite intense with chants of puto and a large number of Mexicans screaming at him as he lef the ring sumed up the mood of the audience.

I wouldn't say I'm being condesending at all, I've seen him fight live - how many of you have? And thats what I'm basing my two pence's worth on.

I'm a big lover of Australian boxing, you have lots of talent and I enjoy watching the likes of Mundine, Green, Briggs and Darchinyan.

I have seen him fight live on numerous occasions mate, don't pull that one in this forum!

It was not reported. Maybe it was the drunks who bet against Dib calling the Mexican a poofter.
