The more I think about this fight, the better Hatton's chances seem to me. How is Floyd going to win rounds off the back foot without hurting Hatton enough to deter him?

How can he equate Hatton with 'lovable losers' Cooper and Bruno, with quality winners Eubank and Benn on the other side?

What is it with ppl who seem to think Mayweather's untouchable? Floyd's biggest wins of recent, pre Oscar, were Baldo and Judah, which have lost their shine after Forrest outclassed Baldo and Cotto broke down Juda.

I hope Floyd feels the same as Marley, because he will get the shock of his life.

Mike Marley is, or at least was, an adviser to Mikkel Kessler's team, I used to have quite a bit of email banter with him when I wrote for maxboxing, he used to wind me up about how Joe was scared of Mikkel, and how Mikkel was the top dog.

Should things turn out for the best, and Ricky and Joe both win, I shall enjoy immeasurably ramming that article back down his craw from whence it came.

I'm not writing Ricky off either, even though I think Floyd will win right now. I don't buy into the Mayweather will destroy Hatton and then KO him theory. Floyd wasn't a huge puncher at 135lb.

I think Marley was the boxing writer for one of the big NYC papers before going to work Don King.

If Marley is so sure I think he should do a Rodney Marsh style bet.

If Hatton wins he has to walk pantsless into the ring and give his best rendition of Blue Moon.

I don't even think he is a likeable guy, I met him after the ODLH - Mayweather match and found him a has-been, sozzled old bore of a hack.

That article is disgraceful. Using words like "beating" and "decimate" to describe what Mayweather will do to Hatton suggests he doesn't know how Mayweather fights. After the Gatti mismatch in which he could do what he wanted, Mayweather has fought "scared", running and stealing rounds. He even fought "scared" against light-punching Baldomir. He will fight that way against Hatton. He may win, but he most certainly will not destroy Ricky. He'd have to stand and fight to do that and that's exactly how he would lose.

Im swaying toward Floyd at the moment. But if Hatton can steam in and bully him he may do the business. I'd like to see him show Floyd no respect from the opening bell, throw him into the ropes like barrera did to Naz. Try to rough him up good style. Itd be a crying shame if he did like eastman did with Hopkins and give floyd too much repect, and subsequently time to pick his shots.

Come on, he lost 4 rounds clear to Judah and most had the DLH fight close. You can't live off a great defense. The fight will come where he needs more than that.

No matter how many times I watch it I can't give DLH more than 4 rounds vs Floyd...

I must admit I think I had the fight something like 116-110 to Mayweather. Oscar looked good early on, but after the 6th was being beaten to the punch all the time. I think I gave Oscar four of the first 6, but only a share after that.

DLH was simply outboxed for the majority of the fight...

I had Mayweather behind after six rounds against de la Hoya. Then dlh simply tired and Floud took over when the coast was clear. It was nothing special. It was like watching a James Toney fight. One guy playing into a defensive fighter's strengths.

At times, let's be honest, Floyd looked flustered and negative.

The defense is very suttle so sometimes you assume Floyds been hit when hes been 10cm away from been hit. Honestly I gave Judah 5rounds the first time I watched it but on second viewing gave him only 3rounds

So he only has a great defense? He has fast hands, decent power, great footwork, lateral movement, good workrate and doesn't make mistakes. He hits and doesn't get hit and thats the name of the game

The thing is PM, referees and judges do not watch the fight in slow motion, and fighters know that. It's why fighter like Oscar throw punches in bunches, knowing it is very hard for the ringside judges to be sure if they landed or not.

He doesn't get hit, but also increasingly, rarely lands anything himself. He's turned into a smaller version of Roy Jones at above 135 rarely standing his ground.

Sugar Ray Leonard and Duran could both stand right in the pocket, blocks incoming shots and make their opponents pay, right then and there. Duran did it against the much bigger Hagler and lived to tell the tale.

Can you imagine Floyd going in with Winky Wright and being able to do that? That's the kind of thing we're talking about because Floyd is basically a lightweight who has moved up to 154.

Oh give it a rest. Yes he tucks up but he still gets hit. And his replies are pretty weak at times. And re the DLH fight, are you forgetting the times that FM's punches were blocked, when he was punching out of range and hitting gloves? I had it for Mayweather, but he had some catching up to do because he gave the play away early (in fact couldn't compete physically early). Mayweather should have beaten Judah by 8-4 in rounds, and he was also dropped. Surely your microscope analysis recognises that?

I think, when certain ppl don't want their guy to get beat, they come up with these overcooked, derogatory and insulting stories.

Some of these egotistical writers think what they write can BECOME true, by making so many ppl believe it.

There are far better writers on here who give good honest unpaid opinions - Professional boxing writers shouldnt be insulting boxers for whatever reason and all that crap about WW2 and Churchill was completely out of order - The man simply isnt worth reading, its not an opinion its a piss take not just aimed at the boxers but at the UK as well.

The amount of punches Delahoya missed is VERY HIGH its not comparable to the occasions when Mayweather hit DLHs gloves, Judah too missed far more when watched in slow mo. Again DLH did not win all the early rounds unless you count missed punches but it was close until Mayweather won the last 4.

Yes Mayweather was kd'ed by Judah - I'm not sure if a judge is supposed to credit a KD if the ref doesn't though. I had both fights 9-3 in the end. I had Judah-Mayweather 7-5 first time I saw it but on rewatching and seeing how much Judah missed changed it to 9-3

If the knockdown is not indicated by the referee, then a judge cannot give it as such. A judge could arguably score it a 10-8, but unless one fighter had seriously dominated that round, they would be under severe scrutiny from their local commission, and would most likely face some sort of ban for a period.
