I thought Khan was fighting October 6th in Nottingham? If they are announcing Khan-Earl for December then the October opponent will be a fall over job.

I thought the Khan-Earl fight would have been put back considering what happened in the Limond fight, but I'm glad it hasn't. Its a very brave match-up IMO and should be another exciting contest.

Will Earl get paid double if he loses?????

scott lawton is his next fight and i would have thought his performance in that fight will be a deciding factor in how he fights in december

Nice boxer is Scott. Unfortunately he gets a bit too involved.

It won't be Lawton in October. Lawton fights my mate Dean Hickman on September 28 in defence of his English title.

There are no guarantees that Lawton wins that one. He should outbox Deano, but if he goes to war there will only be one winner.

Hickman is mandatory and this fight has already been put off once - when Lawton challenged Jon Thaxton. If its put off again then Lawton will be stripped. Besides, Scott wouldn't let his Stoke fans down by pulling out.

Oct one fght, Dec another. That's a good schedule for a young fighter. Remember, FW has done a multi-fight contract with ITV and Khan was obviously the selling point.

According to this article out of Luton, both guys will fight tune-ups on the October show and, unless something goes wrong, will meet up in December.

I'm accepting Lawton followed by Earl. Two perfect fights. Lawton is easier than Limond, but no push over, no journeyman mentallity... Earl is a tough ask. A much hard puncher than Limond, all together much tougher assignment.

IMO - a tougher assignement than the WBA Light Welterweight title.

No way that Lawton loses his belt. Its a steady paycheck over a guy he can beat and then he gets more paychecks with more defenses. Peter McDounagh is my bet because he has a big name after beating Gomez but really hasn't beaten anyone who was sharp but looks good right now. No threat, guy who beat a big name and is on a winning steak, and featherfisted hands. He would be my pick.

Why will Lawton be losing his belt? He will be challenging for Khan's belt.

Plenty of young champions has "low key" defences... these can read as a tune up. Graham Earl isn't a champion.

Its going to be a miserable bloody Christmas in Bolton this year - Khans fault, he wanted to rush things and Frank is under pressure to provide Khan with a decent opponent - Well they dont come more decent than Graham Earl so its going to be fireworks in December - I am not a gambling man, in fact the last bet I had was 5 years ago on the Grand National which says it all but as soon as the bout is officially confirmed I am putting £500 on Earl - Thats how confident I am on Graham winning - I dont see it as an upset, Graham will knock him spark cold out, sod points and end the kids bullshit - It will be an upset for those who still think Khan is destined to win a world title but for me its just a case of whats going to happen come December - Graham is a class fighter who can take and give huge punches - If Earl lands thats it, no getting up and going for glory, the fight will be over - I dont bet normally because I dont like losing money but this is too good to miss out on - Khan cant stop Earl unless there is a stupid ref intervention but Earl can certainly stop Khan - Forget points its a war, and Graham will win it - Help please on best odds, not into gambling as I say but this is a must.

Don't be daft, Tom. Scott won't give a monkey's if he has to let go of the English belt for a big payday against Khan. And he'll hardly be letting his Stoke fans down by giving them a chance to be on the telly with a big atmosphere.

Earl would have a serious chance againts Khan. If this fight does come off in Dec it will tell us a lot about Khan

I think Khan would beat him. Despite getting dropped by Limond, Khan can be very good at reading a right hand, stepping outside of it and coming back with a left hook. He's so much faster than Earl and Earl doesn't fare well vs speed.
