I will be at a dinner this Thursday wih Ricky and am planning on asking him a few questions.

First on the list of course will be if he can give any indications for when the Mayweather fight will be officialy announced.

If anyone has any questions they'd like answering I will try and choose the best / most original and quiz him!! :TU:

Regards,

Koomey

if the currently much-ballyhooed fight is made, how do you feel the move back up the 147 pound weight division will affect the proceedings in your next fight against Floyd Mayweather and how do you plan to make the transition smoothly?

Cheers, matty m

Ask him what weight he's thinking of weighing in at, being the fights at 147 like expected.

Only one question can be considered. That is, 'how do you plan to beat Folyd Mayweather?' and 'Do you plan to make any changes to your training and preparation ie, will you get in the gym for the full 4 months to ensure your starting-point weight isn't it's usual 12 stone?'

OK, that's two questions. Start again. Only two questions can be...

HI Koomey, Whats his mile time when going all out on 1mile? What is his typical roadwork distance? Does he do free weight squats/bench - if so whats his 1rep max on each, if not whats his max hack squat.

Would be interested to hear the answers to those if you could remember them - Cheers Koomey :TU:

the question about fighting at welter is a good one. how many more fights does he thinks he will have before calling it a day.

I've seen a video of Hatton doing squats and also leg press - don't know what weight he was pushing. I also think (miught be wrong), that he could do 100Kg bench press - not sure how many reps though..

Ask him if Goz from Boxrec can have a free ringside ticket for the Mayweather fight.

I'd probably be interested in carrying his belt too if Rooney can't do it because of the football season.

Goz - I doubt even Hatton could keep up with your drinking - remeober the Tyson fight in Manchester? I can remember you in the lift with Axel Schulz and you were slurring your words then!

James - I sat next to you at the Clinton Woods fight (by memory) when you were covering ot for Max Boxing and you seem a likeable chap, but 50K?...

Why have you refused to fight your arch-rival Junior Witter for 6 or so years?

Already asked him that one last year! Ricky says he will NEVER fight Witter as it will prove nothing. Why fight someone who has achieved so little within a similar period as Hatton has. :o

That last answer is depressing.

Presumably, Gavin Rees is a goer though?

1) If this is the case then ask him why he fought Urango, Collazzo, Maussa, Oliveira, Stewart, Vilches, Pedersen, Rios, Phillips, Tackie etc. Had they all achieved more than Witter??? or is Ricky just making more excuses.

2) If you asked him that last year, can you say "you're excuse for not fighting Witter last year was that he hadn't achieved anything, now that Witter is the holder of the WBC title and is number 2 in the division will you fight him now?? or do you think his BIG counter-punching style is made for your come forward aggression style, so you've decided to give him a very very wide berth" [queue more Hatton excuses]

come on son, Witter was hardly hot property since his loss to Judah. and its only since the Corley win that he's looked world class, but Hatton has been after the best and biggest names since long before the Corley-Witter fight.

You're not seriously telling me that Witter would haver been a bigger or better fighter for Ricky than Castillo or Mayweather now are you?!

Witter has been calling Hatton out since the turn of the century. Witter and Hatton have been head and shoulders above the rest of the Brits for years and Witter has been constantly calling for the fight, yet Hatton has repeatedly refused to fight him despite Witter offering to fight for as little as £150,000.

Hatton wasn't hot property either before 5th June 2005 (Tszyu fight), why was Hatton rrefusing the fight prior to that.

Hatton-Witter is obviously not on par with the Mayweather fight, but for the British fans it should be at least be on a par with the Castillo IMO and apart from the Tszyu fight it ranks above every other fight that Ricky has had.

Assuming he won't give out any real "new" info and would rather give jokey answers to make his fellow-eaters lauigh and have a nice evening:

"How many times do you intend to win and vacate the IBF Light-Welterweight title?"

Best wishes,

So TMK has outed you as my favourite Geordie boxing fan.

Where have you been? You dissapeared off the face of the earth for 6 or so years.

It's funny until recently your old boxing site still appeared when I googled my own name with the only 2 'articles' I ever wrote....

By the way me slurring my words by 6pm is not an indicator of my drinking prowess!
