The Jose Roman listed in the social security death index that was born in 1947, and died in 1995 lists his last residence as New Haven, CT. I always hear about Jose Roman in Tampa, FL, and a contributor to wikipedia says that he works for the Kash-N-Karry Supermarket chain in Tampa, and Wikipedia has only been around for a couple of years. I am confused.

There is a boxer in his 20's right now from Florida, whose name is Jose Roman, I am wondering if he is the son, or relative. Boxrec.com lists this boxer as being originally from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, the same place listed for the elder Roman. But Roman is a common name in Puerto Rico to be sure. Confusing right now if he is deceased or not.

I am confident that Manuel Ramos is deceased.

Thanks for the info, the jury is still out on Roman. I am trying to get to the bottom of this. I don't totally discount a later birth date, it does sound a little crazy though, but crazier things have happened.

The reason I am trying to find Ocasio, Roman, Jones, Ramos, is because I collect the signatures of every man to ever fight for the heavyweight title. I have 140 out of the 183 signatures, and I really need Jose Roman's autograph.

I guess if I could find an autograph of Roman, it really wouldn't matter if he was deceased or not, as bad as that sounds. I hope he is ok, too, I really do. If anyone has the autograph of Roman, Leroy Jones, Ossie Ocasio, or Manuel Ramos, let me know. Travis
