Sugar Ray Leonard tormenting Duran till he quit is one of my favorite, as is Barry McGuigan winning the title from Pedroza, and the Rumble In The Jungle, Hearns putting Duran face down for the count, Douglas KO'ing Tyson, Toney taunting Roy Jones Jr and getting floored for his audacity. So many.

When Julio Cesar Chavez and Roger Mayweather fought Howard Cosell was announcing. Before the fight the idiot kept raving about Roger Mayweather's "dangerous right hand" and during the round 1 he spent the entire round going on an on about Roger's right hand. In the second round Julio flattened Roger with a right hand. Priceless.

Benn vs McClellan, for about 2 minutes at the end of the fight until everyone realised that McClellan was in big trouble

..if we're really going to fine tune this one to specific moments and not to fights or even endings, one of my all time favorites was watching jersey joe knock marciano down. ah....just a few seconds that gave a blink of false hope....but that all-too-brief incident was one of my favorites in years of watching fights.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruling 8-0 in Ali's favor on his draft conviction. No disrespect meant to anyone who has served or is currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, but I believe Ali was justified in refusing the draft.

The Foreman-Lyle fight. My college roommate and I screamed ourselves hoarse watching that one! We were yelling so loud others guys on the dorm floor came running into our room to see what what going on. Pretty soon we had a crowd in our room that spilled out into the hallway watching the fight. Some guys were afraid to leave our room and go back to their own room to turn the fight on because they didn't want to miss another knockdown!!

Nino Benvenuti-Luis Rodriguez. I always liked Benvenuti. I remember Rodriguez was cutting Benvenuti up pretty good when Nino uncorked a picture perfect left hook that knocked Rodriguez out cold. Still the best left hook I think I've ever seen. I remember Sports Illustrated had a color photo of Rodriguez crumbled up on the canvas in their report on the fight.

Maybe not my all time favourite but one that is right up there came on a big fight card in Sydney. A mate and I were pumped for the main event but the undercard looked pretty ordinary, however there was a bloke on there making his pro debut, his name was Tyrone Tongia. My mate and I decided to talk him up to anyone that would listen, telling them that he was a future world champion the whole kit and caboodle (keep in mind that we had never actually seen this bloke). Then came fight time. The bell rang for the first round and Tyrone got smashed. I don't think he threw a punch all round and the other guy just hammered him. The second round started much the same as the first. My mate turned to me and said “It doesn’t look good for Tyrone.”
I responded “Don’t worry he is a future World Champ, he’ll just knock him out!”
No sooner had I finished than Tyrone loaded up with a massive right hand and knocked his opponent out cold!!! It is still one of the best one punch knock outs I’ve ever seen.

When the main event didn’t go as we’d hoped the Tongia knockout was the highlight of the night. We still follow his career and talk him up to this day…

• Frank Shamrock beating Tito Ortiz.

Basically, my best memories are of live fights.

but the highest on the list is of trolling....? Outstanding!

I was 19. The sportscaster came on the 11 o'clock news with the statement, "It appears as if 37 year old Floyd Patterson is still going strong
as he pounded out a unanimous 10 round decision over Oscar Bonavena tonight at Madison Square Garden in New York. I was floating. I realize
it wasn't a magical moment in boxing history, but in that moment I could have licked the world, I felt so good. Floyd was my man & my man was knocking on the door one more time.

A few that come to mind.

Being ringside for Nigel Benn vs Chris Eubank 1 & 2.
Getting drunk and watching Frank Bruno beat Oliver McCall on TV with friends.
Watching Nigel Benn beat Iran Barkley on TV.
Meeting Roberto Duran.

A few years ago me and a few friends of mine went to Madison Square Garden to watch the telecast of DelaHoya/Chavez I. The live main event i think was a Shane Mosely lightweight championship fight.
We actually had seats next to Juan Laporte and some of his friends and got to chat and hang out with them the entire card. One of Laportes friends told us an awesome story about him witnessing Mike Tyson getting into a fight with Wesley Snipes in a club and dropping him with a bitch slap!
Years later this story came out on the Howard Stern show when a caller relayed it while Snipes was a guest on the show. Snipes did not confirm nor deny the story!
I got to meet and talk to Richard Steele that night; hell of a nice guy.
But the best part of that night was meeting four absolute babes who went to the fight to meet Delahoya. These Airheads didn't realize that the fight was in Las Vegas and was being telecast in the Arena!
The girls ended up hanging out with us after the fight at this great bar called Mustang Sally, located two blocks from MSG. Two of them ended up coming back with us to my friend's Harlem apartment. I wish i could say i scored but I at least ended up rounding all the bases with one of them without touching home.
It was more than enough to help me get over the disappointment of Chavez losing to Oscar.
Sorry for the long post, but that was my favorite "Boxing moment."

My favorite moments so far have been

Watching Rafael Marquez losing his title chance against Tim Austin and then seeing him follow his corner's advice to a tee and knock out Austin in the 8th round.

The epic build up and finish of the Toney-Jirov fight. Emanuel Steward whenever Jirov is about to go down screaming "OH THAT'S IT, THAT'S IT HE'S DOWN!!!!!!!!!"

The utter shock and disbelief I felt when I saw Antonio Tarver knock out Roy Jones in Round 2.

JLC's knockout in Round 4 in the Corrales rematch...yeah, yeah I know he missed weight big whoop. I was a JLC guy alright, seeing him get vindication was sweet for me damn it!!!!!



Several more great moments to come. Anytime one of my favorite fighters is in a major fight it's a major event for me and a damn fun Saturday night.

Benn - Barkley.... Nigel fighting a yank on home turf and spanking him in a round. Classic.

Ali-foreman..bbc harry carpenter...'oh you cant believe it...and he's doing his shuffle...and I dont think foremans going to get up...he's trying to beat the count...but he's out...oh my god he's one the title back at 32...Ali..champion of the world again...' quoted from memory..lol...on a sweltering night in the african jungle..the king returned to claim his crown...for me the greatest most iconic night in boxing and perhaps sports history...in the days when the heavyweight championship still meant a great deal....ali bomaye...

I guess you did not see or want to remember the first Roberto Duran VS Ray Leonard bout. I don't blame Duran for stopping what I wont dignify
by calling it a fight. Leonard should be embarrassed acting like a clown in the ring. Also, there is only one Sugar Ray and it isn't Leonard.
It's Sugar Ray Robinson. I Just feel bad for the fans who paid to see the fight. but they weren't getting their moneys worth anyhow with Leonards
nonsense. It was like watching the WWF.

Cripes, I'm a big Duran fan, and I do hold SRL in high regard as well.

The only behavior I saw from Leonard in the second fight, was the same behavior I saw from Duran in the first.

That of a "winning" behavior.
