nicky cook making a quick comeback after his failed bid for wbo title last month york hall october date and opponent tbc
I'd like to see him and Hunter, good fight that one. Although presumably Frank is thinking along the lines of Cook V Foster, Morris or Matthews.oscar wrote:nicky cook making a quick comeback after his failed bid for wbo title last month york hall october date and opponent tbc
Agree with that, Cook usually has a good sharp jab, but it looked like he was pushing out his shots in the last fight.nickd wrote:Will we see Cook return at 130? He looked terrible at the weigh in for his last fight. Obviously he was outclassed, but that didn't look like the Cook of previous fights in there to me. I am not saying he would have won without the weight trouble but he was never in it from the get go and had absolutely no snap in his work.
Can't see him in with Mitchell, isn't Mitchell trained by Cook's Dad? At the last fight Mitchell came to the ring with Cook, with a Team Cook jacket on.Old bones Ian wrote:Agree with that, Cook usually has a good sharp jab, but it looked like he was pushing out his shots in the last fight.nickd wrote:Will we see Cook return at 130? Nice to see him get back in the ring again, no sitting around feeling sorry for himself. I would think this next fight will be a nice couple of rounds to get some confidence back into himself.
If he moves up to 130 i wouldn't mind seeing him take on Kevin Mitchell
Im sure he turned pro as a superbantamoliverfennell wrote:He turned pro at super-feather and won an inter belt there, so makes sense for him to move back up now he's finished growing.
I think its probably a combination of weight draining and overtraining to get to 126 - he looked near death on the scales. I really hope he doesn't continue at 126.Old bones Ian wrote:Agree with that, Cook usually has a good sharp jab, but it looked like he was pushing out his shots in the last fight.nickd wrote:Will we see Cook return at 130? Don't think they are married but going out? Heard this from some old boys over in Dublin when I was watching the amateurs.sweetscience wrote:is cook snr married to mitchells mum ???
Well doesn't look like i'll see Cook v Mitchell any time soon. Unless Cook snr and Ms Mitchell split, dopey wrote:Don't think they are married but going out? Heard this from some old boys over in Dublin when I was watching the amateurs.sweetscience wrote:is cook snr married to mitchells mum ???
How good would that be? Cook Snr in his sons corner. Ma Mitchell in hers. Each fighting for their familes pride and honour. Great scrap.Old bones Ian wrote:Well doesn't look like i'll see Cook v Mitchell any time soon. Unless Cook snr and Ms Mitchell split, dopey wrote:Don't think they are married but going out? I'd say he has a good whack at British level, but just average power at a higher levelDavidPayne wrote:So not sure how much whack he really carries despite widely considered a 'big' FEATHERWEIGHT.
Exactly. He'd bash the living daylights out of Johanneson.Old bones Ian wrote:I'd say he has a good whack at British level, but just average power at a higher levelDavidPayne wrote:So not sure how much whack he really carries despite widely considered a 'big' FEATHERWEIGHT.
