Ok so we've had a rough trot lately as pointed out in the So what now thread... Where will our salvation come from? Who do you think will be out next World Champion?

Before you answer let me clarify. By World Champion I mean a boxer who beats the fully fledged champion in either the WBC, IBF, WBO or WBA to take his title...

I really don't know at the moment. Darchinyan will probably win back a title one day, Mundine really should provided he recovers fully. Danny Green is definitely a chance, hopefully he'll get a shot by early next year.

robbie medley i hope he does awsome fighter .. i have sparred him and it was the only 12 mins ive not wanted to be in the ring ...!!!!

Id say Katsidis is our next full champ, I think Kickett has the potential as well as Medley and Geale.

Katsidis will have to face Diaz (notice I didn't say which one :) ) which will be tough but he will have the first shot at being our next champ. I would also say that if he pulls it off he would be our best champ in a long time...

Kickett is a loooooong way off, I would also say Medlay and Geale are a couple of years away seeing as they still haven't stepped up the competition...

As long as Kessler/Calazghe and (probaly soon to be) Bute hold the Titles I can't see him winning one at Supermiddle. Kessler/Calazghe would beat him if they fight and Bute's handlers won't put him in with Mundine...

Mundine has talent but I think we all know he is not the best in the division...

I also struggle to see him getting a shot if he changes weight divisions...

No one is going to give Ndou a chance if/when he gets a rematch?

With Danny toward the top of the IBF rankings he is a chance at getting a fight with Woods which I think he would win but does Woods still have to face Johnson soon? If he does and Johnson wins I think he is all wrong for Danny.

I agree Vic will be back, I just wonder how long it might take him considering who he has chosen for his next opponent.

if you want to see our champions of the future i agree medley hands down, guily i would love to see taylor step up the plate, then he will get a bit more recommendation and a bigger name, i think guily would put him in retirement.

Some people out there have already written off Vic. Every champion around at the moment except for Mayweather has lost or been ko. Manny Pacquio who many think is pound 4 pound no 1 was knocked out as a flyweight, Barrera has been down , De la Hoya, go through the list. Remember one thing - if Vic comes out to box there is no one in his division that can come close to him, he will punish you for 5 to 6 rounds and sooner or later you will get caught. No one knew sweet F A about Kostya except true boxing fans, after he was upset and knocked out by Vince Phillips he caught the heart of our nation.
I know one thing I wouldnt want to face Vic after his last loss, in his next fight or ten fights from now.

He will be our next world champion. Get behind him boys.

Medley gets his chance shortly against Hlatschwayo (?) for the IBO Welterweight title. He looks a chance.

Do you think Calzage & Kesslers form would read the same if they fought Bernard Hopkins - Roy Jones at their prime or how about heading over to U.S to fight real talent.

If you mean p4p top 10 instead of champion, then you need to say that. We can only read what you write.

Secondly, yes I believe Calzaghe and Kessler would beat any version of Toney and Hopkins. The prime RJJ would be a handful for both though.

I actually almost agree. Prime RJJ would beat Calzaghe and Kessler at SMW, but I would choose Calzaghe over a prime Hopkins at SMW and LHW, and I think Kessler-Hopkins would be a 50:50 fight in Hopkins prime. Not quite so sure about Toney, I haven't seen enough of him at lighter weights.

Toney was a good middleweight and a fat heavyweight.
