I have a sky subscription but no sports as I can't stand football but have found Setanta 1 & 2 are up and running. This seems odd as I have not subscribed to Setanta, has anyone else found the same?

If you bought Setanta for the Hatton fight and cancelled it with the month in advance, Setanta will give you that 3rd month free. My Setanta Subcription is supposed to be ending tommorow.

Aside from the Hatton Castillo coverage which was pretty good Setantas coverage has sucked for pretty much everything else boxing related they've shown. Diaz Morales wasn't great and the Dunne Martinez coverage was woeful. Makes me question their true commitment to the sport beyond getting the odd big event a la Hatton Castillo and Calzaghe Kessler.
It will be interesting to see what its like for the Simspon Morris fight.

Setanta's footie coverage is the pits right now, but in fairness it is new. Watched a match at a mate's and could barely understand what Manu Petit was saying. The whole thing looked a cheap production.

So you have SS1 and SS2 just for the boxing - I find it hard to justify myself as I dont watch too much other sport, but I do however watch some.

well ive got 1 and 2.
never ordered them, no change to my monthly bill.
Dont forget Virgin lost sky one and two in the rangle with SKY, maybe this is some recompense to try and keep customers?

yeah, I would think so. Looks like the Great War has its perks. Virgin customers were getting the shit end of it given that Sky customers were getting it £5 a month cheaper and buy 2 months get 1 free offers etc.
Is it part of the new XL package. Or do you just automatically get Setanta if you have Sky Sports?

Alarming Setanta has just left a message on the Answer phone. They'll be trying to phone us tommorrow. I think its to ask if we are sure we want to cancel.

Checked last night and I defintiely have Setanta sports 1 and 2 with my cable package. So if anyone has virgin cable you wont have to shell out for the fights.

Setanta had a free weekend on Virign last weekend so everyone got a tempter then.
Depending on the exact package you are on with Virgin you may now get the Setanta Sports pack free.
It seems a little complicated who gets it free and who doesn’t.
My old man has the Sky Sports package, phone & broadband and he phoned up & they gave him Setanta free.
I tried the same line and they told me because I was on the most basic TV package (M) I would have to upgrade to the XL package and then I would get the Setanta sports pack free. (I also have the phone & broadband but don't know if that is a factor) It cost me £5 per month extra and I get
Setanta Sports 1
Setanta Sports 2
Setanta Golf
Racing UK, and Celtic & Rangers TV.
I also get about 100 more channels of crap that no-one is interested in although I guess there may be something on one of them I'm glad of one day.
Bottom line, it costs nothing to phone 'em up and ask if you are entitled to it free.

Oh well, Setanta didn't forget to switch me off.
Will I or won't I phone them up tommorrow... still haven't decided.

Dublin bill was pretty poor; the anchor kept getting names wrong and mispronouncing them, Gary Jacobs was unintelligable and the talking through the ring entrance killed the atmosphere.
Simpson-Morris was excellently presented, though. I loved the build-up package and Arthur was a good commentator.

The Dublin thing was using RTE pictures, and done 'off-tube' I think. Setanta were calling their own shots for Simpson-Morris in the first SN show.
