Harris by points, 115-112 to be exact. You heard it here first. :TU:

Just watched the full clip. What it really demonstrates is that when Harris gets you in trouble he doesn't let up.

The knockdown at around 6.24 is a thing of beauty.

I think we'll have a war. I'm leaning towards Harris by KO

Think Witter could counter punch him to a points win.

I wonder if Harris size advantage will be of importance... struggling to think of many opponents who have been significantly taller than Witter. Thats fencers guard that Witter sometimes does will not be of use when Harris can out reach him.

Problem I have with backing Harris though is that he blows so hot and cold. He looked AWFUL vs Maussa, okay you can question his prep (although he said he was in the shape of his life and new an impressive win could have lead to a big payday as he was fighting to his biggest TV audience)... He was also pretty dire in the first fight with Urkal, surely no excuses there - Urkal was respected and it was abroad. Then he gave a very decent performance in the rematch. If that Harris turns up, then I think we have a new champion.

Highlight reels are all very well, but it doesn't show the inconsitency. You could but a highlight reel of Witter which would look better than that.

I think Harris win in a fluctuating fight, fluctuating between thrilling and strategic.

Harris is taller, longer reach, equivalent power, fresh, experienced and coming to win.

Few Witter opponents have been any of those things, whereas Harris has fought away from home, fought quick punchers before, fought awkward fighters before and fought punchers before.

My gut instinct is for a Harris narrow points win. With a knockdown in there somewhere.

Something as simple as a 1-2, a step back then back in with the 1-2 could win him the fight with the first shots scoring. Witter going through a myriad of movements for his counter only for Harris to step off and not be there for a counter.

Will Witter's power intimidate Harris? Even if it did Harris has the style to win on points without getting hurt too much.

It is a really interesting fight, that could in fact be a stinker.

PN, got to disagree with the point you made RE Torres-Holt the other day. I did not think the scores were outrageous at the time of the stoppage as neither man had truly grabbed the fight by the balls. Both were pretty poor in truth and no one dominated in my mind.
You'd think Harris could do that BUT I doubt Harris is smart enough a ring general to do so. Ring Generalship and movement is a big feather in Witter cap and if he can land his big counters we could have a war.

I've said all along this is 1 of the most fascinating fights of the year and it could turn out to be a corker if each fighter sees the need to play the aggressor. Witter will look allot better when he has more counter opportunities and he hasnt had many since he fought Ndou

I looked at the Holt stoppage again, I've seen worse but it was definately premature. Holt wasn't completely dominating early but he was winning the rounds. Columbia has goto be the worse place to send a fighter too, is it the most corrupt country in the world? Or would tha be Nigeria/Pakistan? Bad management decision

Perhaps you can correct me, but of the top of my head I am struggling to think of a big puncher Harris has faced. Lazcano?, Mbaye?, Urkal?, Maussa?, Johnston? None of whom are big punchers.

There is Hurtado yes, but didn't that fight finish in the opening round or something like that?

Thats is actually one of my big hopes for Witter - seeing Harris going timber vs Maussa.

Yeah, Harris has been known to leave his brain outside the ring once or twice but he does have the key to making Witter look bad. I think as ring generals go Witter is lacking also. It is all about picking your battles but if you don't pick any you won't really get anywhere. Movement, of the body, is his A-game but if his reflexes have faded as badly as I personally think they have he may need to bomb Harris out of there.

Nice fight in prospect and my phone will be off as I await the repeat and watch Kelly Pavlik's career best/worst fights.

Torres-Holt was a weird one. It became notorious before it became available so that does not help. It was a bit nip and tuck with no clear domination and the stoppage is debatable rather than outright corrupt. As you say it is not the best place to go and challenge.
Harris has certainly lacked concentration against Ukral and Lazcanno. He was gassed beyond belief against Maussa but am I correct in remembering he put Maussa down with the first punch of the fight?

Both Witter and Harris fight at a slow pace and like to do similar things, which could make it a classic or a stinker, depending whether they draw each other out of their back foot fighting or not. Harris is much more aggressive than Witter and can bring the fight to his opponents. Hes a very good bodypuncher too
