Has the date/venue definately been confirmed??? as I've just read the below on his MySpace site

NEXT FIGHT: WBC and WBA world cruiserweight title fight against Jean-Marc Mormeck. Nov 10th in Paris is what Don King is claiming, but the fight is not yet confirmed for that date. Will update as soon as i have any concrete info.

Hmmm..I doubt they're that confident. The French bookies probably make Mormeck fav.

Guess you'd have to put a few quid on Haye 1-3, but Mormeck looks a good bet for a mid rounds win I think.

its worth putting a £5 on Mormeck cos those odds are shocking. I made lots of money on british bookies being shit in Harrison sprot 9-1 :-)

He says the fight is confirmed for Nov 10 but the venue still hasn't been confirmed. Tickets will go on sale once this has been sorted.

When did Haye post that message about the venue being unconfirmed?

Cruiserweight world champion Jean-Marc Mormeck will defend his WBA and WBC belts against his official WBC challenger David Haye on November 10 at the Palais des Sports Marcel Cerdan in Levallois (a suburb of Paris, France). The 26-year-old Haye (19-1, 18 KOs) is the European champion of the division, although he recently made a victorious incursion into the heavyweight division by stopping the then WBC #11 ranked Tomasz Bonin in less than one round. Haye suffered his only professional defeat at the hands of his British compatriot Carl Thompson, who stopped him in the fifth round in September 2004. The 35-year-old Jean-Marc Mormeck (33-3, 22 KOs) will be returning after regaining the world titles in March against O'Neil Bell. Don King Productions will promote the card.'

No signs of any ticket info anywhere. Only 6 weeks to the fight - do they not want anyone to attend this? :(

still 18 KOs from 19 wins is something special when you think about it particularly when you remember he wasn't even trying in the other fight. It must make the heart beat quicken somewhat when one goes in to face him

It does seem like there is some problem with this bout.

Normally it would be getting a big promotion but its all silence & so close to the scheduled date.

Haye updated his website. Now says the following...

TWO major punchers for two major world titles: Jean-Marc Mormeck defends his WBC and WBA cruiserweight titles on home turf at the Stade Marcel Cerdan in Paris against mandatory challenger David Haye.
The 35-year-old Mormeck is coming off his biggest win: a unanimous decision over bitter Jamaican rival O'Neil "Give 'em Hell" Bell earlier this year in Paris in a rematch. The squat, aggressive Frenchman had rocked the lean, big-hitting Bell several times in their first encounter in the States last year (a right uppercut sent Bell's mouthpiece flying in the second round) but ran out of steam and was overwhelmed in the 10th. Thrilling stuff, and when they did it again in March, Mormeck (this time) withstood Bell's late rally to snatch that unanimous but close decision in front of a sellout crowd.
In victory, Mormeck lifted the coveted WBC and WBA titles.
So to Haye (27 this week), who earned his shot when a terrible cut he suffered against Italy's Giacobbe Fragomeni triggered a spectacular ninth-round barrage from the Londoner in a WBC final eliminator at York Hall last November, and the referee's stoppage. It was redemption stuff for swashbuckling Haye who many believed lacked the stamina and appetite to pull out a knockout late on. Last time out at heavyweight, he reverted to type destroying Pole Tomasz Bonin in 105 seconds.
So who will be last man standing? Mormeck is a bull of a fighter who works to body and head with hooks and uppercuts, punishing opponents and wearing them down. He will be conceding masses of height and reach to the 6ft 3ins Haye - but he's used to that. Haye, naturally, has the better jab jab of the two, if not much of a left hook, and turns his brutal long right into a brutal right uppercut, the shot that so nearly won him gold against Cuba's Odlanier Solis in the opening seconds of their world amateur heavyweight final in Dublin in 2001. But Mormeck is much the busier of the two, much more experienced (a pro since 1995 compared to Haye's 2002) and arguably just as powerful (over the long haul). His victims include Dale Brown, Wayne Braithwaite and Virgil Hill (twice).
He stopped Hill in eight rounds in their first encounter to seize the WBA cruiserweight title (only a peak Roy Jones has also stopped Hill) and made four defences, before Bell outlasted him in that thriller at the fitting host of Madison Square Garden, a loss Mormeck avenged of course. Only Bell has beaten him in the last 10 years.
Haye has won nine in a row since his only defeat to Carl "The Cat" Thompson in September 2004, including quick stoppages of Aussie Glen Kelly and Italian Vincenzo Rossitto - both world-rated going in - and a 45-second blowout of Ukrainian southpaw Alexander Gurov - a man who went eight with Mormeck. The challenger is quick, long-armed and deadly, especially in the early rounds. He's stopped 18 of his 19 victims - 14 inside three rounds, eight in the first. Only slippery Belgian Ismail Abdoul has taken him the distance (the only time Haye has done the championship 12).
But Haye's chin (and his defence) remains a question mark. He was dropped in the second round by super-middleweight Lolenga Mock in Reading in September 2003, before finishing the African in the fourth with a smashing right uppercut. He failed to finish 40-year-old Thompson in the early rounds of their brawl at Wembley, ran out of steam, was floored by right hands and rescued in the fifth.
Yet Haye continues to hold his left hand low and copped plenty of shots from the light-hitting Fragomeni, who licked him as an amateur. His lack of defence could really cost him against a relentless fighter such as Mormeck, a relentless fighter for the full championship 12.
And Haye's lack of experience away from home is also a worry. Yes, the Bermondsey banger fought all over the world as an amateur, but international touraments will bear no comparison to the raucous reception he can expect in France. Believe me, the French HATE the English. I once saw Noel Wilders win every second of every round against Fabien Guillerme in Nice and they gave it to Wilders by two scores of 115-113 and one of 116-112.
I'm also not sure that Haye can make the weight without weakening himself.
In the Lion's Den, if Mormeck soaks up Haye's early power, one has to side with the battle-proven champion.

The local French council are meant to be releasing the tickets.

A press conference was mentioned for this Friday in Paris(Oct 12) but I don't know if its still taking place.

It is a Don King show and he has the British TV rights so he can sell it to whoever he wants.
