Close trilogies

Ali vs Norton: Many people believe that Norton won all 3 fights...I have Norton winning the first and third fights

Grffith vs Paret: Griffith was the better fighter in my view. He won all the 3 fights. The second fight??? I just cannot see how Paret won that one.

Griffith vs Luis Manuel Rodriguez: Historians say that all 4 of their fights, especially the first 3, were close...who won those fights in your view.

Barrera vs Morales: Some say that Barrera won all 3. I got the first fight scored even

Pazienzia vs Haugen: I did not see fight #3

Gatti vs Ward: Famous slugfests of this decade...Who won?

Any other close trilogies?
Which trilogy was the toughest in your view?

Holyfield/Bowe

Carbajal/Gonzalez

Pazienza danced and won the 3rd fight against Haugen in a boring, but convincing fashion.

Since you are talking about trilogies:

Holyfield vs Ruiz

1st win UD by Holyfield
2nd win UD by Ruiz
3rd Draw

Not exactly a trilogy, but Rafael Limon vs Bobby Chacon. The last one (4th) was the best.
1st win by Limon PTS 10 rounds
2nd draw
3rd win by Chacon SD
4th win by Chacon UD - wow the best.

Decagon wrote:I thought Ruiz clearly won the first two bouts with Holyfield. I had the rubber match a draw, mostly because neither man deserved to win that fight. I wouldn't call it a close trilogy.

The Gatti-Ward trilogy wasn't close, either. Gatti should have won the first bout, the second bout was a blowaway, and the third bout was a clear win for Gatti even though he got injured halfway through.
Although Holyfield knocked him out with a body shot in the 2nd fight that was called a low blow.

Those fights all sucked.

Agreed on Ward/Gatti

No votes for Winky/Bronco?

Yeah, I was going to say, is there any doubt that Gatti deserved the Ward trilogy?

Anyway, Casamayor-Corrales and Toney-McCallum come to mind as two close trilogies that weren't mentioned here. Charles-Walcott was four fights, not a trilogy, but the fourth fight was controversial and according to homicidehenry the first one also was.

Yeah, I added it because the second was controversial.
