WBF Taylor Vs Angelo

I havnt seen a more disgraceful decision than the one on Friday night, There was an accidental headclash and Taylor cried and sooked like a bitch until the referee decided to DQ Angelo.
There heads come together as they were both throwing right hands it was as much Taylors fault as Angelos and im disgusted by the decision.
Taylor was wobbled by the first punch of the fight and i think would have been KOd within a few rounds and for Angelo to train hard to get blatantly robbed is pathetic.

Im also going to say that Mr Wheatly writes absolute crap and should at least mention in his column on Fightnews that the headbut was accidental, I sometimes wonder if he actually watches the fights or is drunk when he writes his column.

Sonni must have been fighting with his eyes closed... why else would you throw a over-hand right when a fighter is comming down and in. The punch missed by a good 2ft but his head most certantly didn't!!!!

Regardless of that fact Taylor was coming in and Angelo coming off the ropes, Angelos eyes wernt even on Taylor as he threw and the headclsh was entirely accidental. Angelo is very unorthodox and thats no excuse to DQ him when Taylor was just as much at fault.

It might have mattered if it was a real title. WBF is rubbish.

I agree, but whether it was for a title or not it was just a bad decision.

I am in receipt of an official WBF notification (dated 17/9/07), which states the result had been changed to Technical Draw.

In part it states the following:

After consulting with all relevant parties, it remains indeterminable that the head clash, which resulted in the disqualification of Sonni Michael Angelo, was in fact intentional or unintentional therefore necessitating a reversal of the original decision.

That is typical. When all else fails, PANIC!

Why not just organise a rematch? It is a rubbish title anyway.

I have zero interest in a rematch. I reckon taylor should fight the winner of Dawson Geale!!!!

Yeah thats the point, it would be a semi decent name on their record and I get to see Tayor get KTFO again. It's win win :D

Dawson/Geale will also have the IBO trinket to entice Taylor with so it might just happen...

According to Grange OSB presser, which I just received, the change of result was due to its pressure.

Rematch has been scheduled for December 14 @ West Tigers Leagues Club, Campbelltown NSW.

Watching the fight on Fox, I thought it was one of the most deplorable decisions that I've witnessed in many years.

I totally agreed with the Fox commentators that it was an accidental headclash and various replays from different vantage points, clearly showed that a technical draw should have been called. Thankfully, that great wrong has now been righted and a rematch announced.

Before the decision was announced and with Shannon carrying on aplenty, the Fox commentators said they should get Shannon down out of the ring and let him watch the replays as they would clearly show that the head clash was accidental.

The problem was that Shannon got overly carried away with the quick stoppage and with the flood of blood from his head wound and then a few fools in the crowd chanting "bullshite", the officials panicked and made the rash decision to hand this "Claytons" title to Shannon.

It's a real shame that Shannon Taylor lost his way all those years ago. He had some great potential but threw it away with some wasteful years. He's a bit old and past it to make any noise on the world scene now. The Mosley fight didn't help either
