loving the styles match up.....fancy a late Pavlik KO.....Taylor's fitness will be tested here....remember how he faded late on against Hopkins....he might establish an early lead but i'm not sure if he can hang on

It's a mouthwatering match up.

I'm really hoping Taylor throws caution to the wind and meets Kelly head on, because if Pavlik employs the same tactics as he did against Miranda, we could have one of the great middleweight title fights on our hands.

Pavlik is gonna test Taylor - it will give the Little Rock native a chance to show what he is made of. If he is as good as he is hyped to be he should turn back the challenge of the Youngstown based challenger.

Its another great fight in an action packed winter schedule!

Yeah it could be a cracker, might have a small flutter on Pavlik if the odds are decent

Yes looking forward to this one, Although Taylor looks as if he's not really fighting hard he has outworked Hopkins , Wright and Ouma. All of these are busy fighters, so if Taylor was really lazy he would have lost.

Does anyone else think that Taylor has regressed in his recent fights? I think he's ripe to be blasted away. We'll see if Kelly can do it. Can't wait.

I also see a late Pavlik Stoppage.... and it will shut up some of the Current Scene Yankees as well lol

I don't think Taylor has the stamina to bore a points victory this time. Yes the styles of Spinks, Wright and Hopkins did Taylor no favours in looking good but it was him struggling to deal with little Ouma throwing everything at him that makes me feel he is in for a very tough night.

You'd also think Miranda hits harder than Taylor and Kelly took those shoots very well so Taylor will probably be very hard pressed to score a stoppage. Taylor has looked poorer since Joppy but the standard of his opposition has also gone through the roof

You have to be a helluva optimist to look forward to anything involving Taylor as exciting or cracking...plenty of excuses about his opponents flying about, but that's the last 4 or 5 fights where he's looked pretty ordinary, or down right boring even.

He's a blot on the middleweight landscape - all those great fights over the years, making it the hottest and most popular weight division around, then along comes Mr Cautious Bernard Hopkins, causing fans to slump into their chairs, followed up by the double whammy of even more cautious Taylor, leaving the fans near comatose.

Pavlic HAS to win, and Taylor NEEDS to retire.

Though saying all that, it's the weird nature of boxing that JT could well come out and blast Pavlic into oblivion in three rounds of mayhem.

Doubt it somehow, but I'll be staying up to watch

There are so many doubts about Taylor and so much criticism that he may go out and do something like bash up Pavlik.

I personally don't think he will. Pavlik's the fighter out of the two. He's the guy who can push an opponent back and he's the one who can fight inside.

Can't see anything really positive that Taylor has done for boxing or the middleweight division. There's so many whiners who talk of him as being underappreciated and there's that weirdo Exchamp on the current scene who thinks Pavlik is the root of all evil and that Taylor doesn't even need to fight him to prove himself.

Taylor's biggest test has been a mental test (Hopkins). Now he has a physical test. A raw physical test.

You can never be sure with Taylor whereas we all know for certain Kelly Pavlik will FIGHT - Taylor knows that and will have to find an answer to the Pavlik onslaught - Its going to be a war because my guess is Taylor will fight fire with fire - Should be great and I see Pavlik getting a late stoppage.

Let's see what happens when Pavlik sucks the steam out of Taylor.

A sedate, weight drained Jermaine Taylor has beaten cute, awkward and exceptional middleweight Bernard Hopkins twice, survived against cute portsider Winky Wright, a fighter few would have faced directly after two tangles with Hopkins, he then went onto fight slippery Cory Spinks, a fighter against whom few look good even in victory and a proven, world class Welterweight/Light Middleweight. His next fight, the much criticised, dull victory over Ouma reflected Taylor struggle with the scales and falling confidence. But he still won against a world class operator.

Taylor may be a little dull of late, but he enters this fight - if he makes weight well, as a guy who has fought genuine opponents in his last five. Won.

He's big, athletic, when focussed and healthy he has two good hands and has mixed in better, harder and more seasoned company than Pavlik.

I like Pavlik, he's thrilling to watch but to judge Taylor on the enjoyment factor versus the likes of Hop, Wright and Spinks is harsh. Nobody looks good against those three. Hop has gone on to prove he was far from finished when Taylor met him too. As was widely reported at the time. And it is cruel to overlook the fact Taylor won those bouts.

I think Taylor delivers a much improved performance here, engages and prevails.

I like Taylor in this fight, he has an ambitious, hungry fighter who will come forward in front of him. It may just bring out a very dominant performance from Taylor.

And I wont add any cowardly caveats.

If there was any doubt that Jim Watt isn't far and away the best colour commentator then last weekends Haskins vs Napa commentry should get rid of the doubts. He questioned Haskins style to potential stamina worries and spotted the arm injury very very early.

No other commentator would have spotted those things half as quickly as good old Jim.

I suppose Sky are going to use Jim and Adam for the Arce show, and pretend that they are out there and its live.

I like watching Kelly fight but in pretty much all his fights he takes a lot of shots to get his 3-4 in. McKart was badly faded and going at over 40% accuracy in some rounds. Zuniga floored him and hit him repeatedly.

The Miranda win glosses over a padded record yet Taylor gets stick for his record. He fought three consecutive bouts with guys in the top three P4P at that time. Most fighters go 30-0 at least before scraping the top ten then wait 5-10 fights before fighting another P4P guy.

Both Taylor and Pavlik took on smaller men and faded former titile holders but Taylor breezed through them. His difficult fights came at a higher level and he still got hit less than Pavlik.

Holmes-Cooney II beckons.

I don't think you can criticise Taylor's opponents at all. He is still really in the infancy of his reign. Whilst Ouma and Spinks have been criticised in some corners - really though they were a former and reigning Light Middleweight champion... thats all technically Winky Wright was. I thought the criticism was harsh.

Having said that, the claims that he is 1-4 in his last five is a claim I believe them. I thought Wright especially beat him handily. Thats why I find it hard to include him in any sort of P4P debate, cause I don't think he should be Middleweight champion.

Taylor takes this by KO. Pavlik is nothing special

In fact I'm gonna go on record and say that this will be a one sided battering.

I think Taylor is going to win this pretty easy too. Premiership vs Championship in football terms.
