Managed and promoted himself which is the reason he has a statistically excellent record.
His opponents were all the usual supects.
However Delroy Leslie was a decent fighter(beat Barney and Groenewald) and Lester knocked him out in 8 for a trinket belt.
In fairness he was prob good enough to get in the British title mix, but not good enough to seriously compete for one.
Indeed he did not have the confidence to put himself in that mix

Cheers coco, I was a late starter in becoming a boxing fan, so just wandered how some body could have such a good record and not get at least an eliminator of some form. Thanks for your help

He was a reasonable fighter, but had a totally unrealistic view of his market worth.
He asked for silly purses to fight even a half decent fighter.
He had a mate called Tony Strong, who had a heart but was one of the most technically inept boxers I have ever seen.

He was probably a good southern Area level type boxer, but woefully overprotected.
The Leslie win was on an injury (a cut if I remember rightly) and until that point there was no guarantee Jacobs was going to win.
That was Lester's toughest opponent which doesn't say a great deal for his career.

He is black.
I can't remember him being on the TV
He fought on his own shows which would never attract TV, but he was a good ticket seller tho

I am almost certain the the Jacobs vs Leslie fight was shown in highlights on Grandstand on a Sunday afternoon. I am sure BM used that as a basis of an article on how boxing needs terrestial TV - cause it got more viewers than a geniune world title fight on Sky.
I remember once Jacobs was mandated to fight Ryan Rhodes... How close did that fight ever come to being materialised? Was Jacobs ever up for that one.

He is black, Ive met him a few times. He is a cockeny, so no relation to Jacklord, who by the way could have become a great fighter. Just so goddam lazy.

After showing the wrong world champion on their own website, the WBF has lost all credibility in my eyes.

True, but the WBF does the job for me, after all Audley Harrison once knocked out Richel Hersisia for the Heavyweuight version. Rob Calloway has won the belt, Joszef Matoclsi is a former WBF world champion. I mean come on it's rivalled only by the WBU for credibility.
