I am looking for any information available about the boxing scene in Indianapolis in the early '30s. My grandfather fought there for a few years. He was the Dixie Light-Heavyweight champion when he arrived. His name was Jesse Akers, and he sometimes fought under the moniker "The Tupelo Tornado" in reference to his hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi.
