Mitchell/Khan Press Release

It's real exciting stuff this one, especially with classic lines like "There's been talk of a Great White being spotted off the coast of Cornwall, but if people really want to see a top predator in action, then they should check out my next fight."

A proposed matchup between the two is hype, it won't happen until one or both is damaged goods, couple of losses or have no where else to go. That's the criteria for big British matchups.

MITCHELL PLANS SHARK ATTACK ON KHAN

Boxing predator Kevin Mitchell wants to buy a six-foot shark - once he's got his teeth into Amir Khan

The Dagenham Destroyer, who holds the Commonwealth super-featherweight title, is desperate for a match up against his big rival.

Mitchell will feature on the same card as Khan on Saturday 6th October at the Nottingham Arena, where both stars will be defending their belts.

But the run up to the show hasn't been smooth for Mitchell - his much-loved pet Piranha sadly passed away last week

And the distraught puncher has vowed to replace the man-eater with an even bigger specimen once he beats Khan.

"I love nature documentaries, especially ones about sharks," said Mitchell. "I think we've got a lot in common because once we scent blood we go in for the kill.

"There's been talk of a Great White being spotted off the coast of Cornwall, but if people really want to see a top predator in action, then they should check out my next fight.

"And I also plan on making fish food of Khan when I get my hands on him. Amir's a good fighter, but he's in for a fright when he faces a puncher like me."

Khan's love of sharks stems from watching the late Steve Irwin programmes on the Discovery channel, and he says he is keen to buy one himself.

"I love sharks so much that my plan is to eventually buy a black-tipped reef shark, which can grow up to six foot," he explained.

"A friend of mine who is in the trade suggested building an aquarium as a wall between the living room and dining room of my house.

"I wouldn't do anything without expert advice because sharks are such beautiful creatures and stress can easily kill them.

"The aquariums cost about £20,000 to build, so I'll need win some big fights before I can afford it - starting with one against Khan."

"Im going to make fishfood out of KHan" class he is a good boxer. Did anyone hear the Khan comments about wanting to win a title in 5 fights and fight at other weights.

I say fair enough but I don't see it happening until he gets more seriouse fights I guess Michall could represent that. Would be a good fight and Mitchell seems to have a bang on him alhtough he is a featherweight. I would be interested to see what weight it would be at.

Dont they just, I had a crocodile called H R Puffanstuff named after a dragon on a kids program - What moves faster, a cat or a croc - Answer a croc - I was giving the croc a bit of exercise on the living room floor and forgot the window was open - Suddenly I noticed the cat ready to pounce and hissing at the croc while the croc looked on at the cat without moving - Just as I moved to intervene, the cat turned, and the croc bit off the end of its tail - The croc was just a baby 2 feet long but you still had to be very carefull - I used a butchers chainmail glove to handle him - He eventually joined a large private reptile collection - I also had a dinner plate sized red throated piranna called Fred - He was even more potentially dangerous - Seems crazy now keeping such pets but this was over 30 years ago and a lot of us did back then - Now the craze is keeping dangerous dogs which I think is far worse especially if you have kids.

Bloody Hell, I wouldn't be too bothered about having fights with any bloke pretty much, but the idea of a Croc or Pitbull scares the shit out of me. I'd have no idea how to protect myself or fight 1. My parents have a rottweiler but its not dangerous unless your allergic to being licked

Funny story re the Croc Wildwaylon - Good to hear you didn't flush him down the pan :TU:

What is this desperate Mitchell press release all about? So he's mad enough to want a shark in his living room, did we need to know that FFS?

Everyone knows the Khan fight is never going to happen, unless one of em gets chinned, like Steve says. Just another obscure Russian or Frenchman is all we're going to see in the meantime.

Mitchell/ Johansson/Gomez is worth talking about though.

Well if Khan wants that world title in 5 fights then he is going to have to take those kind of fights. It'd e a statement of intent if he did.

Thanks mate for your comment - Re the croc, when it was time to say goodbye to him, as he just kept growing, I put him in my moterbike sidecar and took him right through the centre of London en route to the private reptile collection where he went to live - Not sure if thats a first, cant be too many crocs that have travelled down Park Lane, especially in a sidecar!! - I tend to feel we will have to wait until about fight 19 or 20 before Khan fights anybody who has an even chance of beating him. Actually a 2 foot croc handled carefully isnt too much of a worry but potentially dangerous dogs are - You just never know when or what will make them turn - A firework, hot weather or a storm can be the trigger - A few years ago a woman who had locked herself out asked me to help her - She told me her back door was unlocked so all I had to do was get over her fence go through her house and open the front door - It all seemed pretty easy but what she didnt say was her dog was in the house - It was no ordinary dog either, a Rhodesian Ridgeback - As big if not bigger than a Rottweiler and used in Africa at night to keep lions and leopards at bay - This is a dog that can obviously kill you not just give you a nasty bite - I have never been more afraid in my life - There was no question of running and there was nothing to hand I could protect myself with - Then I heard the woman calling through the letter box " Cleo, Cleo, mummys home" - The dog then ran to the door and I followed and opened it - I then in a quiet voice, so as to not upset the dog, had ago at the woman for not warning me - She replied saying the dog was good natured and soft as shit - BLOODY HELL, I was in its house, it didnt know me and how could she be sure it wouldnt attack - Like you, I would much rather take a bloke on.

Maybe she hated your guts - I mean come on - you could have been eaten alive quite easily - u sure u never picked her mate instead of her in a night club or sumthin???
I am trying to conjure up a picture of someone giving out a bollocking without the old Ridgy knowing it was a bollocking. Funny story :TU:

I know what your saying but certain dogs despite being seen as killing machines are big softies that wouldnt hurt a fly. Rottweilers especially can be very very soft - it depends on their owners

Pitbulls are an exception to this rule. They're soul purpose in their breeding is to fight/kill. Now they can be raised nicely be pretty soft BUT they.

The mentality of some trashy people in our society is having a tough dog is something to flash like a knife to show they hardmen. They will usually treat the dog like shit and dogs just like people will act how they taught to act, like violent so and sos. If the same dog was trained, had allot of attention (energetic dogs like Rottweilers/pitbulls etc need allot of attention and go crazy if you leave them alone), you can get a friendly loving dog. Theres a saying 'theres no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners' - maybe dog owners should be charged with Assault/Man Slaughter if their dogs attack and or kill because its the owners responsibility to control the dog

Above commene has me chuckling to myself. No time in beating about the bush, say what you feel! :D

On a serious note, I'm not one for pets at all. I don't have any & have no intention of getting any in the future. No way!

I for one would like to see Khan-Mitchell & I would ne hoping for Kevin to emerge victorious.

You make a very good point about irresponsible dog owners and macho men with dangerous dogs but often when these dogs turn it happens out of the blue and sometimes the owner is a very responsible person - There was an event on at a local park and thousands of people were in attendance - A man suddenly fell down and said afterwards all he felt was his leg go cold - He apparently accidently trod on a pitbulls foot that was behind him with its owner - The pitbull had completely ripped out the calf of the mans leg, such is the power of these dogs jaws - The owner claimed his dog had a lovely nature and had never bitten anyone ever before - I was once attacked on a train when I was a boy after treading on the foot of a chow - Fortunately the owner and another passenger were able to hold the dog back - They really are vicious dogs and the Royal Family use them to protect their horses and gun dogs at Sandringham, they have a huge pack of them - Dogs are domesticated wild animals and can turn at any time - In those two cases the dogs attacked because they had been hurt, albiet by accident, the dogs didnt see it that way - Family pets can take a lot of stick from young children and usually they run off to get out of their way but on a hot day when the dog is struggling to breathe they often give a warning snap and not an actual bite - From time to time you will hear of a dog doing far more and the result can be tragic - Keeping any dog with young children is a bit of a risk but with certain breeds that are capable of killing its stupid.

Pitbull's can make lovely family dog's that ARE good with kid's, It is all about the owner's as well as the bloodline/temperament of the individual dog.

Any breed of dog can be suprisingly vicious, Alot of it with Pitbull's is ignorance!

Although I can't deny the damage these dog's can potentially do is shocking.
