Sheffield's Ryan Rhodes drops down to light-middleweight for the first time in a decade when he tops the bill at the Barnsley Metrodome on Saturday October 13th.
Rhodes will face former Commonwealth Champion Ossie Duran.
From Accra, Ghana, Duran is a known, quality opponent who will provide Rhodes with a stern test..having travelled to the UK several times holding wins over British no.1 Jamie Moore and Colin McNeil.
Last time out in the UK he lost the Commonwealth to Bradley Pryce in a tough encounter.
He's since boxed four times winning three inc. an easy points victory over Johnathan Reid before losing out to world top ten rated James Kirkland.
Rhodes last outing was an 89 second knockout of Paul Buchanan.

How Ryan makes 11 stone is beyond me, i boxed him twice he was massive at 12.2

He's been 11st 8lbs for the last 4 weeks and will do this comfortably - and retain his power.

Yeah he won't have problems doing L/M

I will be impressed if he can hold his power at that weight.... i hope he does well i really do as i have had the honour of surviving 12 rounds with him

How's the Contender experience ?

Good match this one, Duran did show slight signs of ageing in his last fight, but was still competitive against a good prospect in James Kirkland.
Duran was floored in the 1st, but rode out any hard shots landed by Kirkland from then on, held on the inside and fired off some useful combo's, but never had the power to stop Kirkland advancing.

Ryan will have to be in very good form to stop Duran, but he should have a bit to much of everything to win on points.
