A few journeymen on Lawtons record and he seems a light puncher so he shouldnt be a problem for Khan - He did pretty well however to last 7 against Jon Thaxton so he should come to fight - Its really a retrograde step for Khan after Willie Limond but Frank probably thinks Khan is due an easy one this time after the surprise flooring by Limond last time out - I wouldnt think Lawton would make past the halfway point and it should be an easy night for Khan - Lets hope its not too easy and one sided.

Just hope the rugby doesn't run into extra time and we end up having the build up cut down.

why didnt we get any undercard on ITV2 or summat? I wouldnt have minded seeing Pryce or Kell Brook

Khan looking much sharper (he says as he gets tagged) but seems to have absorbed some lessons from the Limond fight

Round Two, 10-9 Khan again. This won't take long

Very impressive from Khan, much more measured approach, but letting his hands go once the first shot lands, rather than just flurrying away which he was guilty of previously.

Lawton looks like he won't see past the 6th to me, he's going to get ground down.

Khan walks the second as well and was on the brink of putting Lawton down at the end of the round. Lawton still too upright and allowing himself to be put worked over in the corner rather than using the ring. Think Khan stops him in the third...

Round 3, 10-9 Khan, but without the damaging punching of Round Two, IMO.

Nice to see that Khan is learning to back away after he throws, then re-engaging.

Round 4, Lawton takes a couple of heavy ones and ref stops it... little bit early IMO, but it was only a matter of time

Khan looked pretty good, he was more composed than he's been before, but Lawton didn't bring anything to the table. It's time for another step up now, Earl or Thaxton should be next.

Hmm, a little bit premature from the ref, Lawton was still covering up at that point, but I think the end was nigh.

I just wish that refs wouldn't anticipate the ending when Khan fights, rather than let it come. Not suggesting that he should have allowed Lawton to get hurt, but only one big shot had landed at that point, he was under fire, but still had his wits about him.

Very impressed with Khan tonight, being dropped by Limond has definetly been a force for good with his career. Looked much much better.

On seeing the replay.... think the ref was spot on.... Lawton was getting tagged, the replay makes it very clear

And it's over at the beginning of round 4 - good performance by Khan but Lawton was never at the races. We're no closer to answering the critical questions that will determine how far Khan can do. He's ready for a stiffer test again... I'd be happy with either Earl of Thaxton and would make him favourite over both at this point...

I thought it was early mate but the replay makes a more convincing case IMO

Khan was too busy for him, I agree. Lawton never got the chance to impose himself, and Khan had the power to make him wary, you could see Lawton was affected by his punching

Khan looked hard hitting tonight. I think that's partly because he is picking his shots more now, he's putting more into each shot rather than those blistering combinations with little thought behind them. Khan was placing his shots extremely well tonight, made a believer out of me.

There's of course bigger tests out there. Think Khan should look at European honours next, and maybe take on sub contender level Americans at the weight or a couple of decent tough mexicans to round his development.

Yeah, but that's because he's not on the same level as Khan, hence the reason the step up is needed.
