Surely still awaiting trial.
A misunderstood man - he's a good bloke, told me a joke once about Spanish coppers, a bit racist but funny at the same time

A Bum, wasted talent completely! could of been a great fighter in my opinion but never had the dicsipline to make it!!! Shame.

Didnt do badly regardless though did he. Would love if he sorted his head out, not so much to box again, as I have no further desire to see him in the ring, but to write a truly truthful autobiography.
Even if he had stayed off the booze and been 100% commited (which I believe he was until maybe before the first medina fight??) do you think he'd have beaten Marquez, Barrera, Morrales, Pacman etc... I dont. Guzman would've made Scott look silly had they fought.

No, no, no and no, in that order.

i dont think he could ever have been a great fighter, from what i saw, and i saw him live a couple of times, he was big at the weight, decent chin, could hit a bit but was hopeless against someone with some nouse who could move and box, ok, perhaps hopeless is not the right word, but he certainly had problems.

As a younger man, Scott was a pretty exceptional fighter. Latterly he relied on his strength more and more, but I'm sure his deterioration was in part due to his lifestyle outside the ring.
Very sad what has happened to Scott, I really hope he can sort himself out, otherwise the life of a destitute seems to await him.
That picture of him with a vast beer gut paralytic in some pub in a photo taken by his 'mates' on their mobile, was very sad to see.

i must have been out of the country when that thread went through, but thanks for the link, sad and sorry state, and even sadder that he was charging for his autograph to fuel his addiction. he has taken enough money off the paying public already, the clown.

Harrison's best performance was beating wee Argie for the belt, forgotten his name.
He was a good fighter, in an era of one world champion, he'd have been a top ten contender.
The four guys mentioned would have obliterated him. He was too stationary, but in his formative years he was very compact, precise etc but as Rhino says, well schooled opponents had him in trouble. Polo, Medina etc....

Very sad whats happened to him, I think we never got to see how good he could have been, he seemed to become limited and onedimensional early into his title reign and with hindsight his drinking was probably taking a toll even then....

Very sad case - what more can be said - a bloke who had it all who will now end up with f*ck all.
I sincerely hope he gets the help required - however he has got to want that help for it to do any good in the first place.

Alcoholism is a terrible disease, i've seen it with my own eyes... one of the biggest problems with a person getting help is that part of the illness entails a self loathing which makes recovery not a desired option.... which is probably why Scott has surrounded himself with the scum that he has... I'm sure he knows even in the state he's in, the type of people he is surrounded by, but he just wants destruction rather than salvation.... hopefully he'll find some reason to pull himself back, if only for his kids sake one would hope... sad echoes of Benny Lynch...
