i vaguely remember seeing this on telly and jackson was a very dirty fighter - head, elbows etc - but how the hell did john lose this fight. KO rd4 i think it was!!! 33 years later i'm still trying to work it out.

Ended on cuts, Harry. Stracey was all over "Top Cat" when he picked up the cut from a clash of heads.
You know, John probably peaked the night he beat Napoles. Time moves on, new fighters grab the headlines and people forget. But a peak Stracey could fight every bit as well as your Honeyghans and Hattons.

oh yes...i remember now. there was a clash of heads and the fight was stopped because of johns nasty cut eye. jackson was a bit handy with his head and i recall john went to hospital to have plastic surgery on the damage - first time i ever heard of this technique.
