Just noticed this on the undercard at the York Hall on Saturday. Chisora was getting quite a bit of attention a little while ago, Don't know what shape Morgan is in, but if he's in any type of shape I can see it being a very dificult night for Chisora...

whats your thoughts on this?

Surprising bit of matchmaking by FW, there. Either he thinks very highly indeed of Chisora, or not very highly of Morgan.

I doubt that; he's only signed him this year and will nurture a young heavyweight as best he can.

ye a bit odd to say the least - but that said I saw chisora against Booth and to be fair he didint look that great and perhaps lacking in size and power against the monsters of today

maybe struggling to get him fights so havin to take chances

It is more a case of throwing them in at the deep end a bit, whoever loses is on the scrapheap, whoever wins gets a new contract.
Darren says he is in good shape, told me he was fighting some bloke called Derek, he has no idea who he is!

Apparently he did'nt look too good against Booth last time out.

Seen him fight in the amateurs(ABA final to be precise)and he was pretty lucky to get the decision that night.He and the other super heavies that year benefited from big David Price not entering the ABA's, he would have walked it...again.

Anyway, maybe Warren is changing his match making style at last?

I have heard 'Del boy'Chisora enters to the only fools and horses soundtrack
Anyone know if this is true?

He stuck Darren in with Rogan a while back and it turned out a good scrap. I imagine Chisora will win this one.

Yes it is true, well partly. The opening few bars of OFAH kicks in as an intro, then his music changes to something else.

As for him not looking good against Booth - who ever has, besides Haye?

sad state of brit boxing that the rogans/sextons/ belshaws etc will probably be able to gatecrash major domestic titles with around 10 or 11 fights at this rate

Wasn't impressed with him at all.

Wasnt impressed with Sexton and Belshaw looks like he'll be out for another 6 or so months - at 22 I'd say he was the best prospect, although without a test of any sorts its difficult to tell.

Seen Darren on Sat night, he was disappointed, felt he won and didn't get credited for a knockdown in the 3rd. He said he lost by 2 points but it said he lost every round on boxrec
He was unmarked but is still overweight, hopefully Darren can keep going but will FW renew his contract and even if he does he wasn't looking to get him a win on Sat

I thought it was a knockdown as well,few weird moments jamie cox didnt get credited with a KD either.Yet the frenchguy against Burns was counted when he fell over?

Anyone think Rawling's offensive on Bob Williams was warranted or overly harsh? I thought it he picked on Williams inexperience and then used it as fodder to chastise him on the late stoppage.

Chisora needs to shift a few pounds and improve his stamina but clearly has talent. When he got up on his toes he comfortably outboxed Morgan and threw some nicely delivered combinations. If he can knuckle down Chisora would appear to be the best hope out of our current sorry crop of heavyweight prospects.

Sexton will have to be matched very carefully. The knockdown he suffered was untidy and inconclusive, it looked like he was knocked off balance by a jab. However, he was definitely stunned afterwards by a glancing left hook from Simpkin which is rather more worrying.

Sexton regrouped and was right back in the fight at the time when Simpkin was stopped with a cut eye but the pair should really meet again as the fight was still in the balance.

Rawlings was a bit over the top i thought, but i do think Bob Williams has a long way to go before he's going to be a top ref.

David Price has stated he'll turn pro after Bejing games, maybe sooner if he doesn't qualify for them, so he would be a bonus to our current crop of heavys.

Has anyone seen Chris Burton box? is he any good?

So far i've not been impressed with Belshaw or Sexton.

Price would beat all the names mentioned here on his pro debut, with ease.

I hope he qualifies for the games, as given a kind draw, he could be a suprise medallist.
When he turns over he will eclipse all these other so called prospects.
Don't think Price will go all the way, but he will certainly be a dominant force at domestic level.

Hopefully Price will get a good draw in the World's next month, needs to get to the semi's to qualify for bejing.

'High Tower' is the best young boxer i've seen – at least out of the current crop of domestic heavyweights.

I saw him halt decent and seasoned Paul Butlin in four rounds at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall last December, displaying qualities that could see him go very far.

He boxed calmly, switched attacks from head to body (softened the body in the first couple before dropping Paul with headshots in rounds three and four) and had the quickest pair of hands on a heavyweight i've seen since Tony Tubbs!

He took a few decent whacks from Paul, 10-2 (2) entering, but stood-up to them and annihilated him.

Yeah he has seen the canvas on a few occasions, and that will probably be the reason he won't cut it at the top level as a pro.

He should have plenty enough to deal a few beatings out to these British heavies though.
