Sorry to take up a whole new thread just for this, but I've never seen this before, & have just found it:-

That left jab-straight right-left uppercut to finish is a thing of beauty, even in tiny tiny two-dollar-whore jerk-o-vision...

I remember a few years back when he & Roy Jones Jr. were fighting it out on people's P4P lists for the #1 & 2 spots...Finito had it all the way IMO.

Finito's competition makes Roy's look like Sugar Ray Robinsons.

Oh I agree that his competition was often dire.
But Sorjaturong (the dude doing the falling over in that clip) went on to unseat Chiquita just north of Lopez, and not exactly a trillion years later, either. Hideyuki Ohashi was quite a bad mofo, I seem to recall, & Alvarez never won five rounds of that rematch...
Anyway, sorry, I just brought it up because I only ever got to read about him in his prime, never actually saw him, & now because of the Wonder of Teh Innernetz (TM) I can see him whenever I like.
Wasn't trying to claim he was the Hispanic, second coming of Jimmy Wilde; I just like watching him.

One thing where Finito beats RJJ: He fought (and beat) everyone who was a threat to his number 1 status.
He also retired undefeated.
Agree his competition compared to RJJ's is inferior, bnut he beat the strawweights he could, faced anyone willing, made 21 title defences and unified 3 versions of the title.... then he went to Light-Fly and faced 3 fighters who were supposed to represent a challenge to his status as numero uno.
Finito is THE legend of strawweights.

Great fighter...But would have elevated his status in the top 20 or maybe a top 50 all-time if he would have challenged Michael Carbajal, Scotty Olson and Chiquita Gonzalez
Unfortunately, he did not.
