Dave Thomas, British Amateur Heavyweight Champion, 1950's

Dave Thomas, 3-time A.B.A. heavyweight champion and 5-time London heavyweight champion, was born in September 1937 and died in October 1980, at age 43. Can anyone please tell me the exact dates of his birth and of his death? Thanks.
