Just wondering on your thoughts on the up coming election,

Im not really convinced by Rudd even though i come from a family of Labour voters. I see him as very fake and i honestley think Costello would do a far better job of running the country. Wht do you guys and girls think?

The Librerals will lose this election, they've been in too long. No matter what the economy is doing the government always seems to lose when they've been in for a decade or so. Think back to when the liberals got in 10 years ago, Lthe econony was doing fine

BTW - Kevin Rudd looks and sounds like a liberal

Liberal should lose and I think they know they will, thats why they are running down their surplus by running all these BS pro work choices ads. Work choices alone should be anough to get them ousted.

BTW Does anyone else think it is funny that in one of their own ads one of the two blokes says that his boss had to 'up the money bit to make it fair'. They are saying in their own ad that bosses will rip you off given the chance!!! Penalty rates will be a thing of the past. Tell me one person who is entering the workforce for the first time who has enough 'bargining power' to get a 'fair deal'. They make a big deal about you having to sign the deal so that it suits you and the company but the bottom line is if you don't sign the deal you don't get the job, simple as that!!! Business has all the power, working class has very little...

I think it will be close regardless of what the polls say.
Little johnny has effectively lead people to believe that Labor was the cause of the pain and he is an economic genius who saved the day..........nothing could be further from the truth.
The Hawke/Keatng government put us through the pain so we became internationally competitive and set the foundation for growth and prosperity, unfortunately little john didn't and doesn't have the vision to capitalise on the changes.
I have never voted Labor in my life but I may this time because little john is such a liar.
Our international reputation has suffered due to little johns head up GWB arse policies.

John Howard reminds me of something Harry S. Truman said about Richard Nixon "Nixon is a low down lying bastard. He can lie out of both sides of his mouth at the same time. If Nixon ever caught himself telling the truth he would tell a lie to keep in practice."

As for Costello, former Liberal Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett accurately nicknamed him "Dog", saying "Costello has every characteristic of a dog except loyalty." I think Jeff meant to include eating his own shit.

Stories about Rudd not being real Labor come from media arseholes who are madly in love with Howard, such as Laurie "Jabba the House" Oakes (he takes up too much ground for a hut) and assorted Murdoch employees.

When it comes down to it you either vote Liberal/National or Labour. Even if you vote for someone else it just comes down to who which one you put higher in your preferences or if you only put one down who that small party gives their preferences to...

Good point. I'd prefer labor to be a little more left-wing than they are at the moment, but I'll almost certainly vote for them anyway. My heart is closer to Greens, but it's obvious the federal election is always a two horse race.

My gut feeling at the moment is that Liberal will win in a split decision (very close, hanging on to just enough seats to stay in power). I hope I am wrong about this.

Try reading a real newspaper occasionally. Anyone that thinks the media is all Labor has obviously never read the writings of Miranda Devine and Gerald Henderson (Howard's former head of staff) in the Sydney Morning Herald. The Telegraph is a right wing rag.

Personaly im more labour..
I think workchoices is the biggest load of shit ever invented in australian politics, for a 16 year old apprentice who is already half starving, having to sign an agreement has meant that i no longer get time and a half on saturday mornings its crap.. It has been enough to convince me to go to university to get real job security because i have no interest in becoming qualified and being subjected to the same rubbish

carpentry mate, and i love it, guess it runs in the family a bit.. but yeh i think that first years should get at least 300 a week instead of 220 because the living away from home allowance is a joke, they need to make apprenticeships more attractive if they want to get onto the skills shortage

You have obviously not watched Sky News. Keiran Gilbert, their Political Editor, only ever takes Howard's dick out of his mouth to put Costello's in.

So you read The Telegraph and watch the free to air commercial channels. I suppose the next thing you will tell us is that Alan Jones is straight.

Is there something wrong with free to air TV

It is pretty limited. You can see a hell of a lot more sport on cable.

And now Peter Costello has had to admit that some of the ALP MPs the Liberals identified as "Union Bosses" never worked for Trade Unions.

Gee, I guess some of us didn't already know Costello was a lying arsehole.
