Ok so the big final tomorrow, so who wins?

I'm going for England 26 - 20 South Africa.

And for once i don't mind losing money, as i bet on South Africa to win the final , but put that bet on before the World cup

South Africa 26-12 England

England 13 South Africa 22

South Africa have to be the favourites and thats really a boost for England, all the pressure will be on South Africa I think, ....if England are not more than 5 or six points down in the last 20 mins then I can see them pulling off another last gasp upset.... its all in the team work... shame the footballers cant do the same....

I didn't watch the last one on purpose, and we won, so gonna see Jimmy Carr instead in the hope our lads will now I'm not watching it and win it for us.

Personally think this is gonna be a sht week for English sport and we lose everything (football, F1 and rugby). Hope I'm wrong!!!

Would be a great achievement to get so close, but even more gutting IMO, cos we'd be within touching distance... one penalty away... and I'll probably go into cardiac arrest at some point in the last 5mins.

I've predicted we'll lose the last two, and the tonga game.... so i'm not going to change my form now.... hopefully England won't either.

England 15 (4 pens and a drop goal) SA 13 (2 tries and a pen)

against australia and france we beat a poor scrummaging team and brutally overpowered a good, not great, scrummage and maul side. in both cases we stopped them getting the ball to their runners. SA are more than capable of matching us for strength plus they have great ball handlers and guys with lightening speed. its gonna be an immense tussle between two packs one of whom will want to run it for tries and another who will inch forward towards the posts and kick for glory. they've done us proud from the worse start in history - ive got to back 'em for a draw dropping win

Win or lose we've had a great World Cup.

Heart says England, head says SA by 10-15 points.

proud of them - but warm congrats to SA the best side in the tournament and francois pienaar is a top top fella, so generous in his praise of england.

Thought England acquitted themselves very well, considering they never had the firepower to win this tournnament. It's testament to how important will power is, that they got as far as they did, and stayed competitive.

They were unlucky with the try scoring effort, which really was one of their only bits of open play, but the final analysis it did look like his foot was on the line as he played the ball down. Hard lines.

With some new blood and the same attitude, they can go on to success. There was a spirit there which was phenomenal.

but lets remember it was england who got the only try of the game, albeit disallowed, SA's points were mostly giftwrapped by england and wilkinson missed vital points with the boot. we could have won this game.

Great game, shame we lost, but we can hold our heads up high after this and hopefully this will turn around the team as a whole for the future.... I hope they keep that coach as well (cant remember his name!!!) with time I think he'll put together a real world beating squad....

Agreed about the gift wrapped points. We definitely could have won it.

It was NOT a try. Cueto had his foot in touch before he lifted it off the ground. I will concede that England cmae closest to scoring a try.

The best team on the night won and they were also the most consistent all through the competition.

England played to their strengths which is sensible but I'm glad that style did not win this world cup. Very limited game plan but generally effective.

Yeah they'll keep Brian Ashton on now, he was underfire prior to the world cup though. Excellent tournament for England, exceeded my expectations by a country mile and with abit more luck and discipline the result could have been different last night, but South Africa deserved the tournament win IMO.

Very very doubtful, he doesn't have the cross-over exposure of Bruno at the moment and the date is too late to cover him beating Floyd (hope). Had it been a few weeks before he'd have stood a chance, Lewis has to be favourite with England rugby as team of the year.
