The fight that could of happened that never happened…Arturo Gatti vs. Naseem Hamed
This was real interesting to me! I was looking thru WOODDDDDDDDDYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAA account on you tube and I found a video which they were talks about this fight. Gatti was saying that Naseem was a clown for dancing his way to the ring making an opponent wait for 14 minutes before the fight. They were talks after the Kevin Kelly-Naseem Hamed bout but it all died because of the loss Gatti suffered to Angel Manfredy. Anyway it was real interesting to me that bout could of actually been made. Who do you think would of won?

I think Hamed would've annihilated Gatti.

IMO I would prefer Naseem. NO matter what the catch weight would be. Naseem had the strength, speed, threw at different angles and would of really played with Gatti’s head. All Gatti would do is keep coming forward and forward. Gatti had power but do I dare type it? I think Naseem had way more power!

Gatti would have just launched himself at Naz with no regard for defence and got flattened very early.

Naseem hit extremely hard..and was slippery in his prime, Gatti was easy to hit but he had very good power heart and toughness..Hamed if he couldn't knock you out looked merdiocre..Besides Gatti always came in heavy as long as Gatti doesn't suffer a cut Dare I say it?! I pick Gatti by KO

Probably would have been just like Gatti / Mayweather except at 130.

Pound for pound Hamed was much better, but I think Gatti would be too big

No way Mayweather is the much better boxer and much better defensively.., Mayweather is something special not just some overrated puncher..

I agree, Gatti had a pretty good chin as well and I don't think Hamed hits as hard as some of Gatti's KO-conquerers.

Thats what I mean Gatti took some monster shots from Delahoya Ward, Baldomir all this guys are pretty good hitters and Baldomir should be fighting at 154..

It doesnt take a Mayweather to dominate Gatti. Hamed had all the abilities to shut Arturo down and stop him in the middle rounds.

What ablities Hamed had a bad chin and was rocked by Kevin Kelly.more than on one occasion .Arturo hit much harder, Hamed relied on slow past their prime fighers to look against such as Wilfredo Vasquez, and guys that didn't have enough pop to hurt him as Wayne McCullough, Paul Ingle he had alot of trouble with this guys because they were tough and threw alot of punches Gatti is much quicker and a better puncher than this 2..and would win.

I just can't really see Hamed beating someone as strong as Gatti when he didn't even want to fight..guys like Norwood, or a green JMM, this guys were small and were better off at 122...while Gatti has always come in a division or 2 above his ideal weight..

What madness is this?
Hamed was a small feather, and if we're talking about after the Kelley fight, then Gatti had already been as high as light-welter, and was draining himself like mad to get down below that. I'm sorry, but that's a huge gap.
Even if Gatti was a complete chump, his massive size advantage would put him in with a shout, but he was a decent fighter, and no matter how good Hamed was, he's not beating a decent fighter who comes into the ring 10-15lbs heavier.
And, Gatti could punch. Much, much harder than men who put Hamed on the deck.

I gotta say what only a few of you have so far & take Gatti via the size difference.
It's just too much for Hamed.
