Tony Tubbs' father Roger Tubbs passed away Oct. 8th in Cincinnati, OH after a long 2 year fight with lung cancer. Roger was one of the hardest workers I think I've seen. Even after diagnosed and feeling ill he didnt let that stop him from his work in construction. It was hard to keep Roger down but after a while the cancer took its toll and I'm glad he's not in pain anymore but I'm sad that Mr. Roger Tubbs won't be there to great me with a big smile and a strong handshake anymore.
God bless

Ahhh...embarrassing mistakes. They make life interesting. Seriously though I hope the Tubbs family can recover from the loss and its easy to see how they got their toughness. That is one tough guy.

FinitoLopez wrote:Wondered why he stopped posting here. One of the toughest guys he stopped fighting near fifty and beat Brian Minto a solid B fighter. Probably the most accomplished fighter who posted here he truly was a world champ in most of our eyes. The fact that he spent some of his remaining time talking to us and continuing construction his a testament to his love of his sport and hard work. They just don't make heavyweights like him anymore. I hope his family is secure and I hope his son turns out well and is something like his father. Thank you for answering our questions and may God bless your family and you wherever you are.
