...I went into a Post Office to buy a boxing mag to burn time whilst waiting for an interview and they didn't have any. Here's the kicker...

They had 4 different airgun magazines and 3 different surfing magazines. Not a BM, BN or RING could be found anywhere.

I went to one which had 2 MMA mags and 4 WWF/WWE magazines and no boxing mags the other day, and thats why I will never return to the town of todmorden

i thiught asda and tesco,s were selling but kant find it on there shelves now what,s going on does anyone know what happend

The main grocers like the two you mentioned have limited shelf space and there's huge competiton from different magazines to get on those shelves so it's highly unlikely they'll ever take the likes of Boxing News - doesn't have a high enough circulation so doesn't generate enough RSV (retail sales value) for them.
WH Smith is the closest you'll get to a chain that's guaranteed to stock it as they dedicate a far greater floor space to stocking a wide range of mags.

W H Smith are a specialist book and mag shop and will get you anything but cover most interests anyway.

My Tesco sells BN

W H Smiths Lakeside and Romford have BN, BM, and RING

Sainsburys, Asda and somewhere else that escapes me have started doing BN near me......places that never used to, and I have absolutely no idea why, but I like it.
I once asked a lady on my indoor market if she had it , which she didn't - low and behold next week and every week since she's been getting it in ......we are now like family almost....if I don't buy it she will be stuck with it and lose money and it will be on my conscience so I HAVE to, but it's ok, last time I checked WHSmiths were still in business

Tesco (and I believe Asda and Sainsbury as well) work on a grading system - mags are allocated into bands. If you're in band A you're in pretty much every Tesco store in the land (think Cosmo, TV Times etc). If you're a Boxing News or a similar niche title, you'll be around a band G probably, which means you're in a handful of stores (normally those that have the most space dedicated to mags so competition isn't as fierce).
All publishers (which will be Newsquest in the case of Boxing News) compete for listings, but the balance of power is increasingly with the big grocers. It's why it's so difficult to even dream of launching a new mag - to secure decent listings with everyone would probably cost you around £20-30,000, and that would only secure them for a certain time period - if you didn't deliver the RSV they want your mag would be likely to get booted off the schedules... it's tough out there!
