Yep I think Froch had to sell his soul to FW to get the fight so. no deal!!DG. wrote:Max Molyneux wrote:It was Froch who turned down Calzaghe.
You sure?
Only way he would say no is because FWANK wanted too many options.
As usual!
All Froch said on Hennessey's site was It was derisory without a reason why.DG. wrote:Max Molyneux wrote:It was Froch who turned down Calzaghe.

froch turned down warrens stupid options which showed warren had no faith in his man, froch would fight calzaghe winner takes all. im not saying froch would win but it would be a toe to toe slugfest, best chin wins !!Max Molyneux wrote:It was Froch who turned down Calzaghe.
Joe needs paydays and Carl ain't that! Yes, he could fight Carl, but he needs legacy defining fights and Carl isn't an established "name" yet.Wales wrote:I think Joe V carl is a realistic prospect should Joe get past this gimme next sat <ahem>

Frank can be a right bell end at times. I reckon the sole purpose of the text was so that he could write that Froch turned down the fight in his NOTW column. Who's going to sign a contract when they don't know the details of it or if it even includes options??? Frank is dying to get his hands on Carl Froch.G0mez wrote:Ok, if your really interested here is the bona-fide turn of events.
Not sure of the medium (fax, text or email) but basically an offer of £_ _K landed mid week for Carl to fight Joe on a SN show. Literally a 'one liner'.
They responded straight away " forget the money for the moment, we're cool with that - what we want is the terms and conditions of the contract - send it over and if its satisfactory we'll sign it and send it back within the hour "
Silence.
Saturday a text lands - " £_ _ _K last offer. "
They said again - SEND THE CONTRACT !!! money aint the discussion here, please just send it through.
Low and behold, the next day in the NOTW it reads 'Froch turns down fight"
Personally i dont think they will ever fight, unless Joe loses against Kessler, then it may be made - but by then Froch will prob get a crack himself at Kessler.
I think it was this type of negotiating that blew out the Enzo - Haye fight.
Its a pity we won't get to find out who is right?Max Molyneux wrote:Froch would never stop Calzaghe and would be badly outclassed.
Froch's power comes from being flat footed and that helps him put his full weight Into those shots.
No a fight is the best way to find out who is rightMax Molyneux wrote:Judging skill and talent Is the best way to find out who Is right.

You said Joe would win a decision yourself, your kind using my logic.Lenny wrote:No a fight is the best way to find out who is rightMax Molyneux wrote:Judging skill and talent Is the best way to find out who Is right.
Piss off! You must be a hardcore Froch nuthugger to type out that drivel...... show some self respect.rhino222 wrote:froch turned down warrens stupid options which showed warren had no faith in his man, froch would fight calzaghe winner takes all. im not saying froch would win but it would be a toe to toe slugfest, best chin wins !!Max Molyneux wrote:It was Froch who turned down Calzaghe.
