Mayweather 'toyed' with De La Hoya!?!

"Only Castillo, in their 2002 rematch at lightweight, has run him close".....wasn't it the first fight that many felt was controversial?......i don't think there was any debate surrounding the 2nd contest, Mayweather won hands down....

Hatton a world champion at 10 stone for six years!?!?.....yes if we are counting the WBU....i wonder if i ever bothered to trawl the Kevin Mitchell archive i would find any comments condemning titles such as the World Boxing Union's

At Hatton's gym last month they were speaking of Kessler as a 'bumped-up Dennis Holbaek Pederson', basically taking the piss out of Calzaghe/Warren.

what, just because he's Danish? That's a dumb comparison, really ignorant of anyone to say that. I can see why they don't like Warren but why drag Kessler down for no reason after he's had a quality word title reign & heading into a 3-belt unification.

Pederson was one of Hatton's many many many challengers for that naff WBU belt, wasn't remotely world class and I believe was also coming up from a smaller weight.

Classless comparison. There's a lot of fighters in Manchester I respect, but if they're not being tongue in cheek I'm worried because how many of them hold WBC and WBA titles?

YEah that was terrible.....I thought Kevin MItchell was a fairly knowledgeable writer.

THe other weird article I noticed in the wekend papers was some article in the AWFUL News of the world magazine ran some bizarre story about some bird who apparently paid of her debts of £25,000 by becoming a professional sparring partner for male pros.....

(She had never actually had a fight.) Including a 6ft 2 18 stone pro....but had to retire when she got hit by a live threatening body blow...or some nonsense like that.

You've both echoed my thoughts exactly. I couldn't believe it when I read the two comments regarding 'toying' with De La Hoya and the Castillo fight. Normally rate Mitchell but he was well off the pace on this occasion...
