What do you think the out come would have been if Bruno had fought Green in 1984, rather than fighting james smith. Both fighters undefeated.

I think Green would have had his moments, but they would have been to few. Bruno would have had the power and a good long jab to keep Green at bay, Green eats a few right crosses and is seemingly in trouble at times. Bruno however goes on to win a ten round decision.

Agree with that. Green does OK early, until he tastes Bruno's power and shuts up shop. Bruno 97-93 or 96-94.

People forget Mitch had SPEED along the lines of a Dokes/Page/Tubbs.He would use this to keep Frank at bay and win a decison along the lines of 96-94 and 97-93, since Frank would have his moments, and make it a fight at various points.Now if Mitch was CRACKED out, Bruno would win a lopsided decision.

Bruno was a puncher, in fact 40 of his 45 wins came from KO's. He also had lewis in trouble at one point, and the time he temporarily wobbled tyson (1st fight) was the first chink in mikes aura of invincibility. The guy could hit.

Let's not get too carried away with Blood's lasting the distance with Tyson. Even Bruno early in his career would have stomped Mitch Green. Green lost to just about every credible opponent he fought, while Bruno proved to be a true world class fighter. Green would have probably run and held for 10 rounds and lost a lopsided decision.

Well, this is all opinion, but Bruno beat Coetzee, Tillis, Bugner, McCall, Williams and a number of decent journeymen/fringe guys like Eklund, Gardner, Brown, etc. And yes Bugner was quite old, but had beaten Tillis, Bey and Page in his 3 fights prior to fighting Bruno, so he was still pretty capable. He was also very competitive against a slightly pre-prime Lewis.

This is certainly a better resume than just about any active HW. If Bruno wasn’t a world class HW, then there haven’t been many world class HWs in the history of boxing.

Bruno's weaknesses were very obvious but he was a deserving top 10 contender and deserved his title shots. Other than the 2nd Tyson fight Bruno, whilst beatable, was not an easy fight for anyone.

What exactly is debatable? That Bugner was still capable at age 37?
