I might relent and buy Sentanta just for this month, so I can see the Kessler fight. I am just off out now, and may be busy tomorrow night. If I paid for it Saturday afternoon, does anybody who has the channel, know if I' have the channel by the evening?

M8 I thought this fight was PPV, but when i found out it was on setanta sports I thought I would suscribe just for this month as well just so I can watch Kessler-Calzaghe but apparently it takes a week to register...!!!!!!!!! AAAA!! thIs is so stupid if true - so many people will miss out on watching the fight and on a personal note I been waiting for this fight for months - in fact was looking forward to this fight more than mayweather-hatton!!    Anyone know of any other method I can watch the fight?

I think I saw somewhere on the Sentanta website that it takes twenty minutes after you paid. I think it was in the FAQ, but I am a little dubious about the channel. I want the fight, and the fight only. I don't want the channel, and the other seven odd ones, nor do I particularly care what the deal is. All I want is to watch this fight. I missed Clinton Woods, which I was gutted about, because I couldn't be arsed to sign up, then go through the trouble of cancelling. (I was going to try and find a pub showing it, but that could've been a lot of trouble knowing pubs my way, so I didn't bother.)

Anyway, has anybody here ordered it for a fight, and cancelled it either straight afterwards, or at the end of the month. How easy is it to do? Maybe I should just tell my bank not to honour any other events from Sentanta?

it takes about 20 mins to get connected, but you cant cancel it for a month and then you have to give thirty days notice too. plus 10 quid connection fee.

so you will definately pay the connection fee and 2 months rental, thats the best you can do im afraid.

I think they are offering a fiver a month deal for three months. Take that - you are basically paying fifteen quid for the calzaghe fight and getting three months of setanta for free. After two months you need to give them notice so you dont pay any extra.

make sure they confirm you are not tied to an 12 month contract though - i'm assured that that is not required for this offer.

I took the hatton offer and then starting paying 9 quid a month and will assess the situation at the end of year but basically over seven months it will have cost me 55 quid for two ppvs from hatton and calzaghe, a bunch of other great fights live, football and some good rugby. I'd have spent over 30 quid on the hatton and calzaghe fights anyway - so its been good value. whether it will be next year, who knows. but props to setanta, theyve come up with the goods for the last six months with mosely cotto and other stuff still to come.

by the way the answer to your question is almost certainly yes though if i were you i'd do it tomorrow - why take the chance.

you can do it online in about 2 minutes.

I got a freeview box with a month free setanta. Its not really a month free as you still have to pay a months activation charge of £9.99.

I called up and it was working within an hour or so. It needs to tune into the correct frequency which I believe is shared with channel 5.

I'm going to cancel after a month but within my month of subscription I get Calzaghe Kessler, Cotto Mosely and Vargas Mayorga. Not bad for a tenner.

Setanta can be a pain in the hole but it's worth it. I subscribed and then left my box off for 2 hours and waited then rebooted etc all day it wasn't working, on the phone to technical support and re tuning etc They said it was my faulty new box.

Then at night i tried it by chance and it still said encrypted but the picture came on and it has worked ever since! (With the encrypted message on :o )

Be carefull about the connection - It USUALLY takes 20 minutes, but sometimes can take up to 4 hours as I found out too my cost - regarding Matthews vs Marsh. Signed up 2 1/2 hours before the time - missed the show.

Any Warren non Khan card.

Bottom line, if you're a boxing fan you need Setanta.

They may have had a few teething troubles with their coverage, but they have been very good to boxing fans so far.

I subscribed today. It's a fiver per month, no connection fee was advised (for sky, dunno about freeview) you have no fixed term subscription, but you have to give 30 days notice after your first payment, so the only obligation is 2 months at a fiver per month.
