Always like watching Anderson. I thought Kevin was pretty much on the downslide but he's done well of late. Good luck to both lads - both good fellas.

I know what you mean Ian, just think his level is sub European at the moment. Not a criticism, but I do think people can be hasty in calling a fighter shot or faded.... Like Craig Doherty was labelled faded for all his fight subsequent from the Arthur battle (not by you, but by others) - what was he 26.

I think the reason why Anderson struggled with Nuumbembe (whether anyone thought he won is another matter) is because thats his level. But he is still young and still learning.

Sorry, that was stupid of me to just say Kevin...I meant McIntyre, actually!

Yeah, McIntyre has comeback well - he looked just to weak vs David Barnes but his victory of Doherty (who as everyone knows I hold in high esteem) no matter how controvesial shows his strength has improved. I expected Doherty to win either CONVINCINGLY on points or by late KO.

I think Gilmour's got Anderson a home banker for this one. I can't see McIntyre lasting the course, despite his career best win of over Doherty.

It will great to see Anderson get the Lonsdale belts for keeps and hopefully book an EBU shot in 2008.

Good prediction there WW. :TU:

Well, I got that one completely wrong - really sharp display from McIntyre. Anderson looked like he was missing something from the off (his perfomance reminded me EXACTLY like Hare vs Rivera) Wasn't Hare also managed by Gilmour? - Credit to McIntyre for taking advantage. His strength was a surprise. See, Sport Psychology works!

Having said that, I think there will be a pretty big que for McIntyre - think alot of Welters will fancy their chances.

I would have liked to have seen Anderson pulled out there - something in his posture and performance reminded me of Spencer Oliver's and Paul Ingle's final fights.... don't want to have a go at Shannon though, cause there was never a real cause for him to stop it.

On a side note, looks like the Kev and Bev guy has displaced Michael Pass perminantly, shocked to see him doing the show. I just thought he was ill for the last two SN bills. Bet Gary Logan and John McDonald are a bit worried now.

McIntyre just won by a landslide decision, 120-107, 119-108, 118-109.

Woah, that was mixture of, Anderson not having enough rest in between last fight, Anderson thinking it's an easy win, Andersons lack of head movement, Mcinyre confident, Mcintyre seems to be a confidence fighter, and seeing as Anderson was their to be hit..

Rematch would be interesting, as you can't get away from the fact Mcintyre can get knocked out, but he'd have to be favorite after that display.

That's been on the cards for a while, Anderson has a shocking defence. They really need to work on head movement and angles.

I cant believe how poor Anderson's defence was tonight. You'd think he would have done something to correct such a huge fundamental problem after everyone who watched his last few fights noticed he doesnt move his head at all and gets hit far too easily and far too often.

I get the impression that Anderson thought it was going to be a stroll. He looked in less than perfect condition and like someone who thought he had McIntyre's number from the sparring sessions they had before.

Also David Barnes was proably tellling him that he'd walk it given how easily he dealt with McIntyre. All of the above combined with the fact that it was only 7 weeks after a hard fight with Francis Jones cost Anderson his title in my opinion.

I didn't see the fight but fair play to McIntyre to win by such landslide scores, sounds like Anderson is a real hot and cold fighter.

Why was the Bev And Kev guy (Mark Birdis) doing the announcing? This wasn't a SN show was it? I always liked Michael Pass, he was professional and experience. That Birdis guy always looks out of his depth.

Gary Logan is the best around :box:

Totally agree, fatton. God, Anderson looked shocking.

Well I was right Kevin did win but If I am honest, it wasnt the Kevin I thought would win the fight - Anderson didnt get into it and the explanation has to be not having a rest period between fights - I think he thought the fight was an easy defense and just a formality.

My god, Anderson was shit but where did Mcintyre rake that one up from?????

Good on ya, I love it when these contenders win titles, it shows what hard work and persistance can do

Agree Rocket. I was ringside when McIntyre tried his best but basically got totally overpowered by David Barnes. What a turnaround there!

Kevo came in for another fight way too soon after his war with Francis Jones...

I was concerned beforehand that he wouldn't be rested and prepared enough after such a battle too undertake another potential tough night for the British Crown...

That coupled together with his non-existant head movement (like a one fight novice amateur!) and slow reflexes, he was punished by the suprisingly good MacIntyre...

Despite both men being from the same country as myself, I wasn't overly supporting of either, though I must admit I would've said I was supporting Kevo if pushed... Maybe more lessons he will learn from...

Well done McIntyre.

Did old Tommy drop another James Hare style bollock here? Putting Ando in too many hard fights, too close together. Back in the golden years fighters would fight every 1-2 months but now it seems 3 fights a year is a rigorous schedule for anyone other than the survival experts and journeymen.
