Notes from the Millenium...

Terrific night in Cardiff. Got dirt cheap train tickets from Reading, and had the utter genius of booking two king sized rooms in the Marriott right near the station / arena.
Arrived in Cardiff at 19:30, dropped the bags, into the excellent Spice Quarter indian for some pucker scran. Cardiff CC was absolutely rocking. It was like Benidorm / Ibiza in the height of season!
Get to the MS at 22:30, and as ever, not enough bars /staff. But got double helpings once served.
Undercard played out 50 times worse than my worse fears. I even slept during two fights. The poxy bars shut early too.
Main fight was mustard. Joe was very animated on his way in, and got the crowd rocking. Fair play to the Danes though, they could be heard / seen.
I had it 116-113, and everyone around thought the score was about right.
Back at the hotel (after walking thru the chaos of Cardiff CC at 2:30am), it soon became apparent that it was the hotel of choice for all the press, and all the Danish dignitaries. They were all great people, very quick to praise JC and very late to go to bed too
. It was gone 5am when I went up.
Had a good chat with Duke McKenzie, lovely fella.
All in all, great night. Took my boss and his two sons (13 & 14). They were proper made up.
Only downside was my bar bill on checking out..
