Earl is 11/2 to beat Khan (with Stan James). Earl my not win, but these are very good odds IMO

11/2 is fantastic odds for someone who in his last bout had a superb battle with a worthy world champion, and is going up against a 14 fight novice who was badly rocked by a non puncher just months ago.

The only question to ask is if Earl will really be up for the fight or if he just wants a few pay days before calling it quits.

For all Warrens faults he wouldnt put his prize asset in a fight he wasnt certain he could win.

Yeh I don't think Warren would do it if he thought Earl would win but those odds are pretty fcuking stupid for a 2 horse race where nether of them are Mike Middleton. (exactly how I made £160 on Hasim Rahman

How is Katsidis a worthy world champion?

True, but he's facing Diaz for the WBO belt now ain't he in Feb? He won't win, but that's a 2008 contender for FOTY already IMO.

Earl is likening Khan to Bart Simpson To be honest I think Warren is being forced into this one by ITV who are fed up with Khan fighting no hopers, with the exeption being Willie Limond of course - Limond, a soft puncher was seen to be a safe fight, but it didnt turn out that way - If Khan is going to cut the mustard and go all the way, it is time he proved he can handle the best domestics and Earl and Thaxton are the best - Earl is a huge test and far better than any previous opponent - Graham is a hardman with a huge heart and a lot of boxing skills who wants to end the Khan dream - I dont usually bet on anything, never mind fighters, but I am definately placing a decent bet on Graham to win by KO - He cant win any other way, Khan is too fast and too tall and has the reach advantage, so Earl would be easily outpointed - Earl will get his chance to land heavily on Khan and the question is can Khan take it, he couldnt against the light punching Limond - When Khan lets rip with combinations his chin is up and fully exposed and thats when I expect Graham to go for the kill - Lets hope the ref doesnt take 20 seconds to count to 10 with the entire Khan family in the ring holding Earl back in case Khan gets up.

LOL. I don't think even a slow-counting ref will help when Earl lands flush. I don't gamble as a rule, but I'm going to have a flutter on Earl by KO.

I actually think that overrated as Earl has been in the past, he could do Khan. If Warren has heard from those close to Earl that the Londoner is on the slide, or he knows that Earl just wants some cash, it'll be a different story.

But if Earl is anywhere near his best, and doesn't get disheartened with Khan's hand and footspeed early, he could do Khan. He really could.

Graham really doesnt like him, its that simple, nothing deep and complicated.

I think it is a good test as well, we have become so used to a succession of fall over jobs being put in front of our prospects it's refreshing to see Khan in with Earl. I am starting to warm to Earl in this one as well, he has the experience and if he can weather the early storm i can well see him breaking the spirit of the greener, less experienced Amir. Khan probably hits hard enough to keep him off but he doesn't hit as ferociously as Katisidis.

Just a small point but Earl is from Luton, not London.

I would love to have seen Khan in with Luton's last lightweight hero, Billy Schwer - Billy would have given him hell!

Graham has only two losses on his record and has only been stopped once (Katsidis) which really hurt his pride - I am told he is as fit as a butchers dog and more fired up for this than any previous fight - Honestly he is a hard case as well as a good boxer - I shall be getting my bet on tomorrow while the odds are good - Khan can win on points but he wont stop Earl - Earl has 12 rounds to find Khans chin and my bet is he will.

His boxing ability, speed, timing, power, workrate simply aren't good enough. Hes slow too and has been schooled and shutout by Vanzie twice in his prime, even outboxed by Burns and beat like a dog by Katsidis (which may still affect him).

Put Khan in with a Katsidis or Juan Diaz and he may get exposed but not against Earl. Khan can beat Earl anyway he chooses. If he boxes its an easy shutout if he stands and trades his faster punches back up Earl and accumulate to take him out.

Khan wins mid-round stoppage no doubt, save your money.

How much more power would Graham need to be a threat?

His timing and speed maybe poorer but i reckon he definitely has workrate and power to do the job. The lack of stature are balanced to some degree by his extra experience and the toughness he has shown will keep him in it.
He can be outboxed but he is undeniably dangerous.

That's what makes this a genuinely intriguing fight. Frank has delivered this time.

I agree. Earl will be the perfect opponent for making Khan look good. I don't think this is even close. Earl has a punchers chance and that's about it. Should be an easy night for Khan and he can win any way he pleases.

If Khan beats Earl, do you think they'll swerve Thaxton? Because he's the next logical step.

For reference Bobby Vanzie believes Khan wins in 9 having survived an early scare.

Thaxton was poor in his last fight but he'd surely raise his game. Despite that I think Khan could outbox him in a tough fight, probably 8 rounds to 4.
