Great fight...is it really going to happen? There's been ZERO publicity and the TV channels act like it's not happening.

So who wins the Paris shootout?

Seems 99% on the Brit forum are expecting a Haye blastout, and yes he's looked like a cross between Superman and the Caped Crusader in his last couple of fights. I really hope he wins too: he's worth a million dollars if he does. The man has it all: he's one of the most articulate boxers in the world today, has film star looks, nice guy, charisma and a punch like the Crack Of Doom.

What can possibly go wrong?

Trouble is, Mormeck is a battle hardened 12 year veteran, and he must surely know he has to ride out those early rounds, any way he can, then those odds slide dramatically in his favour.

Haye must be tempted to try for an early KO, because Mormeck can hit as well, and he doesn't really want to be hanging about too long.
Because of the drastic weight making he has to do, his stamina might be suspect. And Mormeck will be on him like a shark if he starts to tire.

Very dangerous fight for both, and I'll be praying for an early Haye KO....but I'm getting the feeling that Mormeck might have a few tricks up his sleeve and turn the tables on The Hayemaker.

Re Mormeck - apparently he didn't really want this fight. His trainer's in hospital also. I hear he wants to cash in with an all French fight vs Tiozzo.

I'd love Haye to do it but I think Mormeck will beat him in the second half of the fight. Fragommeni landed plenty of leather on Haye and pressured him - imagine what Mormeck will do who is way more effective at it.

Haye could get the KO of course and I hope he does but hearts are ruling heads around here I think.

I truly hope I am wrong on this!

That's pleasing to hear.

He's a dangerous fighter, but demotivated it's less of a task.

The build up to this fight reminds me of Thompson loads. You'll see the same tactics from Mormeck as The Cat used, execpt Haye has come on leaps and bounds. I can't see anything but a Haye win. I interviewed Haye before the Thompson fight and was a brilliant bloke, really friendly, and sorted me a ticket for the fight - but his confidence in his own power betrayed him. He told me he was confident of a knockout and that he'd be a title holder after what was his tenth fight (IBF I think). Still wasn't to be, better for it though.

He still gets judged by that performance and doesn't get the kudos he deserves, but the wins against Bonin, Gurov, Johansen and Frag demands a bit of respect - certainly a better quality (overall) than Enzo has faced.

Its gonna be a great fight, wouldn't have minded watching it

Haye by KO I reckon about the 4th or 5th. Hes had a very long training camp, so hopefully his weight should have been done correctly and as smoothly as possible. I reckon Hayes one of the hardest punchers P4P in the world, Mormeck won't know whats hit him

Can't see it. In the last 2 fights Mormeck has run out of steam by round 6. He's very similar to Tyson in tht his stamina runs out halfway through, so the French had to limit the rounds to 2 minutes by the end. Disgraceful.

Hadn't heard of this. Was this an "accidental" mistake by the timekeeper?

It's been mentioned a few times that the rounds were suspiciously short in the latter stages of the 2nd Bell fight. If anyone has the DVD it could easily be checked of course.

What seems beyond dispute is that Mormeck used the ‘open scoring’ system to avoid engaging with Bell in the last few rounds as he was gassed, but knew he could coast to a points win from there.

true, some rounds were definitely short

Even if Mormeck gasses after six rounds chances are he'll still have more in the tank than Haye!

If Haye doesn't win early I see him getting stopped late.

Haye has never been 12 hard rounds - not even 12 moderate rounds in fact.

Haye would KO Bell. :P

Mormeck was uncomfortable with Gurov's height and reach so I could him being troubled by Haye's.

He was French, put it that way. Plus a S/O reporter verified that the last 3 rounds were around 2:20. The fight is on my list to get in the next batch.

I think Haye's stamina has improved considerably, but this fight is the acid test if Haye can't shift Mormeck before about 6/7 rounds.

The good news for Haye is that he still carries power late. After his tough EBU defence against Fragomelli he still had tremendous power in the later stages.

50/50 but I lean Haye's way, and I certainly won't be entertaining weight-drained stories afterwards should David lose. No excuses!

I think Haye has to finish it early or he could lose - Lets hope Sky get the rights to show the fight, maybe Friday week, otherwise its wait a month for Eurosport, even thats not garanteed.

is this fight on any channel in the UK? can't find it any where!

Sorry mate but that's wrong. The first Bell fight (which I have at home) he runs out of gas from round 7, Bell backs him into a corner and Wham!!

Second fight, Mormeck is blowing HARD from round 7ish (not sure, as I don't have the fight yet) so the timekeeper adjusts the round duration.

As these are his last two fights, I think we can assume it will happen again. It could just be that Bell's body punching did it, but he was way ahead on scorecards in the seconds fight from halfway, so I doubt it.

Good news for Haye if Mormeck really didn't want the fight....can't blame him to prefering Tiozzo - Haye has to be just about the most dangerous defence you could make at cruiser, for the first few rounds at least.
