team bazooka hav touch down in pommie land a wk ahead of his commonwealth title shot against darren barker.my good friend in london tells me they wont get any favors over here a wk out from the fight. things will be made difficult 4 him 2 try 2 upset him b 4the fight,put him of his fightplan,all fighters fighting out of there country wood go threw it i guess,good luck to ben

Keep us updated. I'm sure Ben will give it his best shot.Great to see an Aussie fighting for a Commonwealth title.While these alphabet regional titles give our guys a rating generally the Commonwealth titles are still a better standard of opponent.It's obviously cheaper to fight for the Mickey Mouse Pacific pan Asian whatever "titles" which is a shame.

well put, couldnt agree more a Cwth title is only one step below a world title

i was spot on about getting no favors,ben crampton cant even get in to a gym yet to do any trainning,4 days out from his commonwelth title bid, :( are we like that when fighters come to australia?

there are hundred of gyms in London, just turn up somewhere surely ?

hey mate your not a pom r u?anyway things r fine in pommie land,and ben will shake the hell out of barker.i here the kids a bit weak on the chin,has been nocked down in a few of his fights,but like agood fighter got back up to win,he will know it when the bazooka hits him.

i said mate things a fine the message now was there in a gym,my hearing is not the best at the best of times and as it is coming to me threw the crampton family back here, we are awaiting more news,about 1.30 am is about the time they chec in. you r right it is most certainly the biggest fight of his life,2 days 2 go,go benny......

It remains to be seen whether Barker turns out to be a "real fighter" as he certainly hasn't fought anybody of stature. The comments on Cramptons record are valid.One wonders then why a "real fighter" was unable to stop him.The usual condesceding English manner at play again.A shame Geale or Dawson haven't bothered with the Commonwealth title route. A clash with the hyped up Mr Barker would have been interesting.

He'll certainly have learnt a lot more from going 12 rounds with Barker than from all those meaningless wins aginst unambitious and / or overmatched opponents he's had since that good win in the USA.

If he's serious, he can come again. If he goes back to whacking Fijian roadsweepers for fake titles like most of our lads seem content to do then, it will be another nail in the Aussie boxing coffin.

Of course we all accept the records built on thai taxi drivers etc.But hello the vaunted Darren Barkers opponents before the Crampton fight had a total of 16 wins 7 draws and 56 losses between them. Can we replace thai taxi drivers with with pommy pork pies?

Not sure where you are getting your figures from, mate. Perhaps you are making them up or need help with your arithmetic...

Paul Samuels alone had 17 wins going into the fight with Barker.

And Ojay Abrahams might have might have 70+ losses on his record, but if you knew anything about boxing (which, of course, you don't) you'd recognise that he's a far better opponent than almost all those lads Crampton 'fought'.

Sure, there are some guys with a lot of losses on Barker's resume but I'd still say they are better opponents than most of the cannon fodder fed to 'prospects' here. The fact that Barker won every round against Crampton suggests I might be onto something.

Collins - yes, that does qualify you as a pom.
