2 rounds gone. Froch looking in control. Reid down at the end of the 2nd but not counted as a knockdown.

Reid threatening but not really landing much. Froch cool and sharp.

Reid a punch bag for the first half of the 4th, but by the end coming back with some big shots. 1 right was a flush hayemaker. Froch took it but things suddenly got interesting...

Reid takes a knee in the 5th. Hughes wants to stop it. Reid saying 1 more.

Reid retired on his stool. He just can't take it anymore these days.

Impressed with Froch - 6,000 fans and he still fights as cool as a cucumber.

No point going on about the low hands anymore, that will never change. What a right hand Froch took in the 4th though, Reid couldn't have hit him with a better punch.

Froch will be exposed soon.

Reid won 2 of those rounds and one of Froch's knock downs was not legit and was a back of the head shot followed with a shove. Froch's knock downs were coming due to the shoves.

fornicating joke how he can even target Calzaghe.

If that was a prime Reid no matter how mediocre he was at his best, he would of beaten Froch.

Froch was in cruise control. He's a world class fighter for me, no doubt.

Based on what exactly? Reid is as past it as they get and his head has been gone for some time. Froch needs to step it up and fast the guy hasnt fought anybody with a real chance since magee. World class credentials are yet to be proved for me.

Tatesovyan had a real chance IMO, he beat a European champion who never lost that belt in the ring, beaten other EBU champions at Super Middle also.

That fight was an utter disgrace!

Froch is good, world-class even, but Reid has been damaged goods for a long time, something that has been repeatedly acknowledged by the boxing press.

I certainly don't think any more highly of Froch than I did before the bout and it was a sorry sight to see Reid (who was a fair player in his day) being subjected to such needless humiliation.

The irony is that Froch seems to believe that his latest 'victory' is a green light to fight Joe Calzaghe!

I dunno, Froch is a quality pro, but I really dislike him and would rather he just went away. But he won't ,and one way or another he will hold a title in the foreseeable future IMO.

A lot of people seem to dislike Froch, it's a shame. He's refreshingly honest in his interviews, he respects his opponents on the whole, does the business in the ring, and attracts a big crowd.

These guys don't actually owe you jack shit. How about get behind them?

Granted tatesovyan beat markussen fair and square in denmark but its hard to get excited about the guys record (markussen) which reads like a protected hometown fighter. I want to like froch i really do but cant take listening to the "world class fighter" stuff until said fighter actually fights at this level.

would of this would of that, if this and if that.

Carl Froch beat Robin Reid fair and square. It happens in boxing a boxer on the way up meets a fighter on the way down - those sort of fights are steeped in boxing history.

Carl Froch is a world class boxer, the shot he took would have decked many a fighter and whilst I acknowledge it is a worry the way Froch drops his hand on the way back from dishing out his shots - it is something I am positive this time Froch will look at that DVD and see he needs to eradicate that element.

However when a fighter steps up in class - surely against Reid a fighter of previous world class experience - Froch is expected to take shots.

I really do not understand the bitterness or way over the top criticism Froch takes - whatever the opposition dishes out Froch ends up the winner.

Markussen isn't the only decent name with an L at the hands of Tatesovyan. Markussen is/was decent - okay no Kessler or Larsen, but a decent EBU champion - you don't really win that belt if your nothing at all.

I owe him jack shit either. It would help if Froch showed an ounce of humility, I don't mind people being brash or cocky if they at least have appear to have a some semblance of a personality or a little bit of charisma. Froch just comes off as completely arrogant to me.

Also he has a bit of a cheek constantly calling out Calzaghe, the only call he's getting from Joe is to be a sparring partner and that's if he's lucky.

As for his ability inside the ring clearly he is a very good fighter but Reid was completely washed up. I don't think you can read a whole lot about Froch's world title prospects on that performance.

It makes me laugh. All the arrogance we have to put up with from American fighters / fans, and we're still so quick to turn on one of our own.

Possibly a little less impressed with Froch than I imagined. I would be interested to know if he has done his knee again (there seemed to be a bit of anxiety in the corner at one stage). For Kessler, Calzaghe etc - he is going to be kicker of foot. He must be quicker on his feet against the elite.

Perhaps it was just a feeling out phase as he said, but my initial reaction was "he's too slow in the legs to give Joe problems".

Don't get me wrong, he looked very good - just analysing him in terms of World title chances.
