I just heard that Micheal Nunn is in Prison this is the first i heard of this. What is he in for does anyone know?

Apparently at the WBC Convention they are trying to set up something which will enable ex fighters to become trainers and Nunn is someone they want to help.

I think Nunn got like 30 years in jail for selling crack or coke...he ain't going anywhere, regardless of how much the WBC wants to help.

Woooooo that's crazy, i always thought he was a good guy. It's always a shame to hear of someone doing something like that and going to Prison.

On August 6th, 2002, in an undercover FBI drug sting, Nunn was arrested for possession of Cocaine with intent to distribute. He was arrested in a Davenport hotel while purchasing one kilogram of Cocaine from an undercover FBI agent. The street value of the drug was reported to be an estimated $24,000.

Nunn pleaded guilty to the charge of one count of conspiracy to distribute Cocaine. During a three-day sentencing hearing involving testimony from friends and fellow inmates, prosecutors weaved together evidence that showed Nunn had been dealing drugs since as far back as 1993. U.S. District Judge William Gritzner sentenced Michael Nunn to more than 24 years in Federal Prison.

I"ve never heard anyone getting out of FEDERAL PRISON early. Once you're in, you serve your term.

yea its tough but its good... drugs are not what need to be on the streets. Kids think its the easy way out and they forget about school, etc. etc.

it might be to long, but it is a example, thats for sure!

Have to agree. seems v harsh.

Nun looked like the future of boxing until he ran into Toney. Nunn-Jones would have been a very intriguing fight.

You're truly a fool & undoubtedly a user.

People piss & moan about drug conviction laws in places like Bali & the like but they are usually the least aware of drugs' pervasive & omnipresent hold. Someone said he didn't rape or kill anyone - any idea what kind of a role drug use (pick a drug, any drug) plays in crime statistics? From alcohol to ice & much of what's in between - Munn helps to contribute to this each time he gets involved - he gets not one iota of sympathy from me, nor would my favourite fighter if he ever went down.

Nunn and 49er's running back Roger Craig were from the same town, Davenport, IA. There were occasionally newspaper stories referring to them as half-brothers. Then Nunn started to get in trouble with the law and the newspapers started to refer to them as cousins. After Nunn started to get into bigger trouble, it turns out they weren't related at all. :D

Generally people dont. Thats why Mike Vick was so scared about the Feds being the ones to charge him. The average federal prisoner does 85% of their sentence. Average state time is well under 50%.

Higher

Also, the Feds have a much higher conviction rate. In my area it's 90+ percent.
