Well, thats me happy...if he cant beat Martinez then there is no point him carrying on....Wayne is a great fighter who deserves to be remembered as such!! There will be no carrying on till hes injured, he has a great career ahead of him as a trainer!!!

Is there a source for this quote? Thank god for that if genuine. He will certainly give the Euro shot all he has but he will be overpowered I think. He hasn't been active which is what a fighter of his age needs going into the big fights. He has had a great career and could have an even greater one as a trainer.

as Martinez in European champ I would assume it must be as Martinez would make more money defending it than boxing an 8 rounder as I heard a while back on here that this fight would be.

Also I've read on here that Mcculloch's an American so why would he be able to box for the Euro title?

Also if the body sanctioned a title fight for a boxer who hasn't boxed for quite a long time especially at Wayne's advanced stage of his career could they not with every reason be accused of blatantly flouting a boxer's safety?

If you know the answer to any of these points then jump in. The fact Mcculloch a few years ago would have stood Martinez on his head while barely breaking sweat is completely irrelevant.

It's a non title 10 rounder. The EBU refused to sanction the fight becuase McCullough has not fought in Europe in the past 12 months. In fact he hasn't fought anywhere in 2 and a half years.

I think Pickering was the mandatory challenger for Martinez so it will be interesting to see what happens to that after his defeat to Sean Hughes recently.

McCullough should retire if he beats Martinez!!

Yeah right! Waynes biggest problem is that he doesn't know when to retire. He should have done it after the first Larios fight. He is shot, but of course he doesn't believe that - they rarely do.
