A lad was supposed to be dropping off info for me but it hasn't appeared yet.
I believe it was a bad cut and his face was in a right old mess.

Going on newspaper reports Hughes took a sound beating with bad bruising, swelling (and cut?) to both eyes the bout being stopped on advice of ringside doctor.
Hughes blames trying to do to much at once ie promoting, managing and boxing - should have concentrated soley on his boxing.
Theres an article floating about somewhere I'll try find it.

Injured Hughes ponders retirement
JIM BLACK
GLASGOW lightweight Barry Hughes accepted yesterday that he was the architect of his WBU Continental title defeat by Georgian Nugzar Margvelashvile at the weekend after taking on too many commitments..
Hughes, a successful businessman, cast himself in the role of promoter, manager and boxer at Bellahouston Arena where he had only his second bout in three and a half years. He was stopped in the fourth round after a ringside doctor decreed that the damage he had suffered to both eyes was too severe to allow him to continue.
"With hindsight it was a mistake to try to do everything myself," said Hughes. "But Braveheart Promotions is not strong enough at this moment in time for others to take decisions without my help."
Hughes, who had never been previously cut or stopped, had been expected to announce his retirement but he has delayed a decision on his future until early next year.
"I have to decide whether I want to make champions or try to be one myself," he said. "The former option would appear to be the more sensible one. But I will allow my injuries to heal first."
