To my knowledge he died of blood poisoning from his tooth.

Im sure the magic Net has more info on that.

From what I have seen and read, he was a damned talented
young guy. Shame he died so young.

yeah I'm sure it was an infected tooth. What about Les Darcy though, even 80 years after his death he is talked about here in Australia.

Darcy is my all-time favorite fighter - or at least in my top 3.
There are several good books written about him for anyone interested.
A couple of good documentaries too.

Too bad he died so youg.
He was very possibly the best fighter below heavy at the time of his passing.
Had he lived there is a good chance he could have fought Greb, Tunney, Carpentier... maybe even Dempsey.
A great fighter.

Darcy has achieved a folk like status here in Australia. Alot of non-boxers know about him. But there are scores of documentaries, shows and biographies on him which help secure the legend.

I have seen snippets of his fights and training, nothing in full length. He seemed a brave and game lad. Hard times required tough heroes.

He was a precocious talent and strong as an ox. Also, technically he was ahead of his time.
