I just read on sportsnut that wheatley thinks ranee ganoy is ready for a title shot, now i understand how easy it is to get a title shot at the ibf if ur an aussie and you play ball with hyder and wheatley, but i dont think hes ready for one, i think the bloke is awesome but just not ready for a shot yet, needs to at least fight a top 10 opponent first...
What do u guys think?

I think he could probably win the WBF Title tomorrow and then unify it with the WBU the next day...

haha yeh hes not the most talented of fighters and hes in one of the most talented divisions, but i just think its pretty cool that he has come out of nowhere with a nothing record to get a world rating

It would have looked good on Ganoy's record that he beat Rob Peden, Peden having been a World Super Featherweight Champion, KOing Nate Campbell for that title after KOing him previously, and Campbell now being rated a top five lightweight.
In the last four years Ganoy has only lost to Katsisis, and lasting five rounds against Rocky was no mean effort.

yeh im all for him i think we should get him down to english lessons and adopt him as an aussie..

Rocky Gattellari was an Australian flyweight champion after fighting for Australia at the 1960 Olympics. I have spoken to Rocky in recent years and his English is still not real flash.

I think he would be competitive in a world title fight. And once you are in there anything is possible. In the words of Rocky Balboa , "Tanks for givin me a shot"

Anything can happen in a boxing ring. It is a sport that thrives on upsets.
Siki v. Carpentier
Tunney v. Dempsey
Braddock v. Baer
Clay v. Liston
Douglas v. Tyson
They are all meat to the boxing fan.

Ganoy stopped Nakbalee in 2 last night, not doing his record any harm.

Their could be some big news regarding Ganoys future very soon.
I'm not at liberty to say anything just yet as nothing has been finalised but it does look promising.

Well the IBF Lightweight champ is Juan Diaz. No way Juan fights Ganoy.
Being the IBF I wouldn't be surprised if they found a reason to strip Juan Diaz but there are still 13 other fighters rated above him in the IBF rankings. If he gets a shot it is a bit of a joke really...

Yeh i agree marlin i think he needs to get to at least number 6 before they should look at him for a voluntary.
I also read they are trying to get nate campbell out to aus to fight him but something tells me angelo di carlo wouldnt be able to pay him enough..
Do you think this news was just hot wind?

So what's the news mate? I assume Diaz not going to turn down $US1.2 mil to fight Katsidis in preferance of fighting Ganoy...
Can you at least give us a clue?

This could be the next defance for the winner.
Maybe Ganoy will be involved in an elimination fight.

I just can't see Diaz fight Ganoy full stop
And Katsidis has already beaten Ganoy...
Surely Ganoy is ranked to low to be in an eliminator.

Boxrec ranks him ninth. I've seen fighters ranked lower than that in title elimination fights.
Since losing to Katsidis over two years ago, Ganoy has won seven straight with 6 KOs, including KOing a former world champion (Peden). That would make the organisations notice him .

But he is ranked 15th in the IBF and Nate Campbell has the number one spot so he is the mandatory and I know he wants a shot.
I can't even remember the last time the IBF had an eliminator as such. In the IBF numbers 2 & 3 have to fight just to get the number one spot (which is why the number one spot is often vacant) in the rankings. I just don't see how they can swing it...

David Diaz and Humberto Soto are fighting for the WBC title in March. Could Ganoy have a chance at the winner of that?

Ganoy should fight Joel Casamayor. I dont no if Ranee would win but I,d like to think he has a chance.

So Soto loses his fight with Guzman and then gets a Title shot in his next fight... This is a crazy world...
Ganoy is ranked 28th by the WBC.
