What ever happened to Ike Quartey.....? I know he hasn't fought since the loss to Vargas but is he out of the sport for good or what? No plans of a comeback or anything?

This question may have been answered many times before but I'm young on this board still and have therefore missed it, so don't get all cranky and flame me...... :-?

Cheers

no mat ehe is talking about ike QUARTEY!!!!!

ike owns hotels in ghana.

he is still an active fighter in his own mind. he has priced himself out of ever fighting again by requesting a foolish amount of money for each fight.

ike has money, and is hated in ghana by hi sown people. they see him as somewhat of a joke.

sup guys, i'm new on this board. it's a shame ike turned his back on the sport. i thought he was gonna clean out the division after watching him devastate vince phillips. the guy had tremendous skills and the best jab in the sport. things were going pretty sh***y for him so i guess he thought enough was enough and got discouraged from boxing. first, he got a draw against lopez who he clearly outpointed. then , politics kept him out of the ring for about a year and his fights against trinidad and whitaker never took place. then, despite ring rust, he beats DLH in a close fight only to get robbed. it was all downhill from there as he didn't look like himself in a sluggish outing against vargas where he never even bothered to throw his patented jabs. ike could've been destined for greatness, but now will be remembered as one of the biggest underachievers in the sport.
