Having almost had his head boxed off by Calzaghe, Jeff Lacy has had one fight over the past 20 months, and that was over a year ago where he won a razor thin MD over Vitali Tsypko. How much does Lacy have left in the tank now? At least Manfredo can box and moved his head against Calzaghe and ended up going home with a big paycheck, but without a bad beating. Surely 11/2 is far too big a price and 1/8 far too low for Lacy?

Over this weekend I see two value bets. Manfredo @ 11/2 and Hatton-Mayweather draw @ 28/1.

For those wanting to back Ricky, what about this for an accumulator of upsets? Eastman to beat Duddy, Earl to beat Khan, Manfredo to beat Lacy and Hatton to beat Mayweather. Combined odds of 436/1 looks value to me for a speculative small punt.

For the Manfredo fight it depends on what Lacy turns up. Rotators are hard to come back from, just look at Buddy McGirt. Anyone seen videos of Lacy back in training?

I've put a tenner on Manfredo too. I don't think he'll win but those odds are daft.

Also picked Earl and Hatton so come on the underdogs

I'll be mixing mine up with doubles and trebles to ensure even with a couple of upsets I'll be doing ok. Manfredo is no world beater but I thought Lacy looked dreadful last time and can't see why he'd look any better a year on and with no activity. I won't be surprised if Lacy wins because he deserves to be favourite, but 1/8 is a joke.

Manfredo does not have the ability or frame to present him the problems that Tyskpko (whatever his name was) did.

Manfredo has'nt got a hope in hell in this fight, you would have to be partially blind to think otherwise, sorry!

I also fancy Eastman to pull it off against Duddy.

Why not? Even before he fought Calzaghe Lacy was largely unproven and didn't show much more than a left hook. Look at his five wins before Calzaghe.

Scott Pemberton W KO 2 - Pemberton was completely shot and Manfredo went on to stop him in three rounds three months after.

Robin Reid W RTD 7 - Another shot fighter without any hunger for the sport any more. Reid had previously fought twice in two years.

Rubin Williams W TKO 7 - Apart from losing to Lacy, this guys claim to fame is a draw against an ancient Antwun Echols. One of the judges had Lacy only a point up at the time of stoppage.

Omar Sheika W UD 12 - With a record of 3-4 in his past seven fights, Sheika made it close on the scorecards with Lacy only winning 115-113 according to two judges.

Syd Vanderpool W TKO 8 - Probably the most impressive of Lacys wins (on paper) was this win against a Vanderpool four years past his prime. Two judges had Lacy one point up at the time of stoppage.

I know Manfredo isn't very good, but how can you say Lacy is? He proved against Calzaghe that he is one dimensional and basically not anywhere near as good as he was hyped to be. What other top five contender had he been in with? None! Plus he's coming back having had one fight in the past two years, and a shoulder injury, and after getting his body and confidence battered over twelve rounds by Joe C. As I said already, Lacy is favourite for this fight but not a 1/8 chance IMO as his odds suggest.

More proven/impressive than Manfredo maybe, but on what basis are you saying he is proven at world level? Proven to be capable of lasting until the final bell at world level maybe. Look at the top ten ranked super-middleweights - Calzaghe, Kessler, Mundine, Bute, Andrade, Froch, Green, Bika, Inkin, Pascal. He hasn't fought any of them bar Calzaghe. Which win of his proved to you he is proven at world level? I can't see how he did that much more than Manfredo. Both were prospects/contenders. Lacy has a big upper body, a powerful left hook, and he used to have confidence. Perhaps that will be back on Saturday night, but for me that's all he has. If Manfredo can stay on his feet until the final bell he should be there or thereabouts.

Lacy has had 1 fight in the last year and a half and been injured so has been inactive. Is it any surprise then he hasn't faced many of the current top 10?

Fact is he was at least the number 3 Supermiddlweight before facing Calzaghe. Manfredo isn't anywhere near that level and never will be.

Cant see Eastman beating Duddy, not back home.

Howard may be the better fighter, but Duddy will have too much fire in his belly?

Lacy been off a while injured rotator cuff and a fighter is normally never the same after that so who knows.Iam putting a £100 stake on Manfredo to lay Lacy the liability is only £24 if Lacy wins but if its a draw or Manfredo win i win £100 on betfair,so all in all not a bad shout as i think Manfredo is hungry this time round as hes been training harder than ever b4,reports say.
Maybe a Manfredo on form could well stop Lacy in the latter rounds,but iam just going for the win or draw he could well pull this of like alfonso did with gatti.

Your better off backing Manfredo for a stake of £22 with a £110 return and £2 on the draw with a return of £56 with the draw obviously the most unlikely outcome.

I Know wot u mean,but cos of the exchanges & commision the bet i did worked out slightly better but thanks for the advice.Any more,i will be very gratefully,Manfredo come on,u can do it,lol.
