Realise it's a bit early but I'm off to the works Xmas party and will miss the fight due to our rabbit chewing the Sky lead to pieces.

If possible, could people use this thread and do a round by round of tonights action?? That was I can just work my way through the thread on my return and not get any spoilers etc!!!!

Hope someone can help!!!! It's Xmas after all!

Thanks,
Gareth

Is Elcock Vs Abraham shown in the UK?If its I'll do it.

Otherwise I can do Duddy/Eastman if anyone is interested in that.

Round 1

Close Round. Both mainly using their jab. Smith goes for it a little more towards the end of the round probably enough to snatch it

10-9 Smith

Round 2

Another close round. Cheka had a nice flurry against the ropes. Looks to have opened a cut above Smith's left eye. Smith comes back in the second half of the round. Cheka just nicks it.

Cheka 10-9

19-19

Round 3

Pretty cautious from both, just jabbing until the final minute when they go for it a little more. Nothing of note landed.

10-10

29-29

Round 4

Both jabbing for the opening minute. Cheka pushes Smith back to the ropes. Smith has another cute, which is worse than the previous one. Unclear whether from it's a clash of heads. Smith probably does more over the course of the round but Cheka will have a nice 30 seconds or so. Smith needs to do more, the fight is there for him to win, if he ups the workrate.

10-9 Smith

39-38 Smith

Round 5

Cheka has the higher workrate, not really landing much in the first minute. Smith comes back nicely in the final minute or so. Smith is catching Cheka with the odd nice punch. Some good counter lefts. There's no sustained pressure by either fighter but Smith did enough in that round with the good counter punches.

10-9 Smith

49-47 Smith

Round 6

Smith has upped the workrate, whilst Cheka's has dropped. I think Smith could make it easier if he pressures more. He's doing just enough to win the rounds for now but not looking spectacular.

10-9 Smith

59-56

Round 7

Cheka has a good flurry against the ropes half way through the round but nothing hurt Smith.Smith catches Cheka with two nice left hooks at the end of the round. Smith is going backwards. Mcgirt having a go at Smith at the break. Telling him to go forward and let his hands go.

10-9 Smith

69-65 Smith

Round 8 (Final Round)

The fight reminds me a bit of Bika Calzaghe. Cheka is making Smith look bad, hardly what he needs after the sucess and exposure of The Contender. I think allegedly has a bit of responsibility to take with picking such a bad fighter match up wise at such short notice

10-9 Smith

79-74 Smith

Vann Scores it 79-74 to Smith as well

After the fight Smith says he made it tough for himself and he didn't do himself any favours. He went looking for the knockout.
Cheka was tough and wanted to get him out of there. Wanted to give a good performance with Mcgirt over. At times I was good and smart but occasionally I saw the red mist. Better fighter the more motivation.

Mcgirt says - Smith was looking for the one punch but he's got to get out of that habit.

Yeah the Wigan bill is part of the Hatton fight. You need to buy the Hatton fight on Sky Box Office to watch it.

Round 1

Hard round to score cos nothing happened.

10-10

Round 2

Slightly more happened. I'd give it to Gbenga as he's actually trying to go forward. Francis hasn't let his right hand go at all.

10-9 Gbenga

20-19 Gbenga

Round 3

Neither fighter has done anything. Francis might just take it.
10-9 Francis
29-29

Does anyone want this Round by Round?
